Sim Settlements 2 - JunkTown - FENCES 2 Addon Pack

i think all the old SS1 fences are in now, 3 of em should be multibed homes Long Fence,Deep fence and Carfence are all 3 bed plots .

yeah ill be trying to add snappoints to all future fences ;)

The moat gets water at level 2 ,make sure you have water plains turned on in teh holotape

Just looked into the description again and I'm back for more suggestions.

Nah, not suggestions. This is a challenge. This addon has no industrial plot at all, non of any of the classes. It also has absolutely none of the recreational classes either. I'm challenging you to make this addon touch every facets of SS2 plots. At least let's start with every plot type.

What right do I have to challenge you like this? Absolutely none! But it ain't gonna stop me. You keep saying you like insane, show me how insane you can get. Create something completely new for industrial. Take your pick, just give it something else none of your other plots have. Maybe use some verticality. Could a junk gatherer working on the 2nd or 3rd floor throw something into a pile of junk at ground level? Could materials be converted by going through your plot, like how metal can get melted and given different shapes through a series of machines on a conveyor belt in the real world (might need to make this a small version of a conveyor belt or a vertical process even), could your plot use that same space to produce materials to be sold in stores? Maybe even specifically your clinic? So many options? How cray-cray you wanna get?

And for recreation, I'd like to see you one day attack any and all training plots but for now here's two ideas for simple relaxation plots. A promenade type plot where people can walk a "nice" path. Or maybe an "art gallery" type plot where the walls of your fences can feature art through either graffitis or paintings hanging one them.

This is my challenge. Find a way to incorporate the last two plot types into this unique addon.

Will you accept the challenge?

NO

But yes :P
but animations are above my pay grade but they kool ideas ;) , i was hoping to use all teh wastelandworkshop traps but i dont think i cud stop settlers from walking in them we know how smart they are lol
I would lov to add more plots types and more multi settler plots .
Ur two rec plot ideas are doable with ease :)
hehe now i just need to find teh time ;)

I am pretty new to modding, so I just tried to make a JunkTown Pod Fence in Vault 88.

I am very impressed. This seems to be a perfect way to create large "apartment buildings." I have no idea how to add stuff. I presume I should be snapping staircases onto attachment points and going from there. I have tried adding stairs, walls, and floors, but nothing seems to work. Can anyone point me to a guide on getting started with fences?

Documentation, tutorials, and hints would be appreciated. Thanks to the author of this mod!

No snap points as yet ,but check out these vids ,one shows teh plot at lvl 3 and the other shows wht i did with it ;) Also my channel has many other vids that show off my addon updates.

I'm going to feel really stupid if the answer is something obvious I'm not seeing but when I try to build any of the "deep" fences the majority of the plot winds up being underground. Is there some trick to getting the deep plots to build so that their bottom is at ground level? Seems a shame to hide all the wonderful details - and, you know, the height - in the dirt.

This is the deep fence, 7 plots long when upgraded. Built with a foundation - is that where I'm going wrong? I've poked around the forums and no one else seems to be having an issue so I must be being obtuse about something....

Yes. Because they are deep. Those are the fences that are going far on the low side. Maybe not the best for floor placement but in multi level constructionsI'm sure you could see how it could work out.

I can see the usefulness, but I can't figure out how to place them so they build up rather than down. Or more precisely, how to set the blank plot marker so that they build above ground?

The Deep Fences are for very uneven ground ,is a few settlements that include steep climbs like that one in the far south.(always forget its name :P)
You need Place anywhere for best results, or you cud build some stairs and add a 2x2 wood foundation and place the plot on top and quickly delete teh stairs and foundation.

They would be very useful on Spectacle Island - that place has tons of weird elevation changes and chest high cliffs that can make building anything not accounting for steep elevation changes a bit of a pain.

OK, I can see how that would work. Is there a standard reference for these plots when they have multiple levels? I know some plots are described in ways like "one up and two down," would each "down" be equivalent to a set of wood (or warehouse) stairs (or walls, or something), or are they variable depending on what the mod developer built?

Pretty sure it indicates how many floors up and/or down the fence goes from the level of the plot. Not sure how precise it is, I'm sure Uituit could confirm, but I think this is what he meant. And yes, floor as in standard wall/stair height.

Yes standard shack wall height is wat i used and i used teh term plots for length ,keeping it all standard wud make it easier to place :)
Place some foundations down then place the plot and then delete teh foundations that you used as a guide , should be a link to a youtube for how i did the moat plots.

Has something happened to uituit? I just tried to view his fence mod videos and he no longer has a You-Tube channel, nor an Instagram account it seems. :cray

Oh dear, well, I hope your health improves or at least does not get worse too quickly. It is not as bad as I feared, though. And thank you for all your past work. :yahoo
