Question Settles not doing what they are told ...

Hi,
I have this irritating issue where sometimes when I assign a settler to a plot the plot will say it is assigned for about a second, then go back to unassigned and the settler is automatically assigned to something else. If try multiple times I can usually get it to stick, but often when I return to the settlement they have been assigned to something else.
Aside from giving into my darker impulses and mowing the settlers down with minigun fire, does anybody have any suggestions? I don't want to turn auto-assign off entirely, because I don't want to assign everybody a house and job myself. I just don't want them to auto-assign away from the plot I assign them to. There is the option to prevent auto assigning away from beds and vanilla jobs, but there is not a similar option for plots.

EDIT : I should note I noticed this start to happen after I started using the "build all plots" option. I really like this option and would rather not just not use it to avoid this issue.

I have had this happen too. Even when I have SS set to auto assign, I have settlers take over a plot, and as soon as it's built, the settler will get unassigned and start wandering around the settlement. Moving settlers to another settlement is almost equally useless. Sometimes it works and others not so much.

I haven't had the problem with moving settlers. With a bigger settlement there is a delay as the scripts catch up, but they do eventually go.

Just a reminder you also have a auto-assignment feature in workshop framework. When using city plans I noticed the AA in SS worked on plots while the AA in WF worked on the non-plot venders that you will see pop up in many city plans. If it’s on, try turning the AA in WF off maybe it’s conflicting with the other.

For me the only problem I had was with the non-plot venders. Usually you would see a “blue man” in workshop that you assign the settlers to and they would never stay assigned properly. I fixed this by placing my own “blue Man” of the proper vender type in the same exact spot and assigning them to mine. You will need the blueprints mod for SS to do this.
