Question Settlers not accepting any supplies.

My settler aren't accepting any scrap I put in the donation safe for htem. They just decline it and return it to the workbench. They're not even gathering any scrap themselves from their work. They're mostly just standing around and doing nothing. Am I missing something or what is the problem that this is happening?

I used the mod Scrap Evereything on Bethesdas mods to clean up Sanctuary. I'm not using any cityplan for it, due to the Triangle of death issue. But they should still accept scrap to even if it's not a city plan. They do their job for a little while, then they keep going back to hammering that damn house. And when I approach them they walk away and gather around the foundation of the house next to it. I don't have Nexusmods installed, due to the fact that I can't figure out how to install the damn thing.

scrap everything and "clean up" mods in general are known to cause issues. this isn't a new thing.
nexusmods is a website not a mod. you don't install it.

Yes but you need the Vortex installer to be able to utilise the mods on the site. And I don't know how to get the mods I download to use them in the game. And regarding the scrap mods, that's news to me. I've used them with SS in previous playthroughs without any issues. So would I then need to start all over again for it to work properely?

if you don't kno how to get mods from nexusmods, how did you get simsettlements2?
search the forums for many posts on issues with scrap/cleaning mods. there's lots of them.

ah ok. i understand now.
ok well, if you're not using nexusmods then i don't know if baka scrapheap is available to you. i would suggest that you have a look at using nexusmods more than bethesda.net as it has a wider variety of mods available to you that can help you. but that doesn't answer your immediate issue.
given the problem you are describing, i would suggest you start a new game, with no cleaning mods installed or used, and see if it helps you, although script lag will play a part in your settlers standing around doing nothing for the longest time. nothing can be done about that, except for running a very small load order with minimal script-heavy mods.

I'm currently downloading mods from there. But I also need to figure out how to get them into the game. Should I remove the current mod folder and create a new one with the mods I'm downloading now? And how does thi work, will it work with the mods on bethesda.net in the menu mods option? Or do I have to fix the load order in the actual folder itself manually?

i think that you should tread very carefully and until you fully understand how to mod your game - do nothing.
there are videos on youtube - look for gophergaming, who did a whole series on vortex mod manager. if you're using vortex, i'd suggest you start there, and make use of the vortex support forums on nexusmods (I'm in there occasionally).
there are other mod managers out there, but as i don't use them, i can't tell you where to find support. however, you will be able to find support easily enough.

Please - i can't stress this enough - don't do anything at all to your game, your directories and your files - until you've fully researched what you're about to do and the implications of what it means if you do it wrong.

Well I started a new save and deleted the old one. No cleaning mods, and they still don't accept any scrap that I put in the desk for them.
Could it be that it's one of the SS addons that's causing all the problems? I have Year 2 & 3 mega pack, Season 1 & 2 contest entries. I know it's not RoTc, Industrial Revolution or Conqueror that's the issue. On top of that I have Hud Framework, Cheat Terminal, Minutemen Liberators & Rickety Bridge that repairs the Sanctuary bridge.

I had the same issue with my first playthrough. I was flummuxed, so I left it alone and went adventuring. A while later (not sure how long), it fixed itself. Not sure if it had to do with building a whole bunch of storage containers or not.
