Sentient Power Armor?

I don't usually get excited by Creation Club stuff (love having my anti-materiel rifle from FO:NV back though), but did you see the latest thing -- AI for power armor? From the description, it looks like you can turn a set of power armor into a companion.

I can see it now -- RotC cities led by sentient power armor. I pity the attackers....

Yea, there seems to be a pre-existing mod for pretty much everything on the creation club. For PC users, great, but I guess for Xbone and PS4 folks its nice to have some mods available...

You only get the one though, unless I’m missing something.

One preview I saw implied it was a module you could build at the power armor station, and the paint job was a separate item. I usually wait until someone like Oxhorn or VinylicPumaGaming posts a review of the cc item before I even consider buying it. This one just made me curious...

What I find funny is CC content released today at 8AM.... at 8:15AM Nexus has a FIX for it. LOL

Yea, VinylicPumaGaming has his review up, and he's not impressed -- said he only recommended the CC thing for PS4 folks, and PC/XBone folks should get the existing mods from Nexus or Bethesda.net:

And yea, Mark, you were right -- it's only a single suit, not something you can add to any power armor. Apparently it comes as T45 armor, and you can swap pieces out to give it any of the other power armor types, paint jobs, etc. And the game treats it like Dogmeat, so Lone Wander is active if you only have it as a companion, and you can also have it and a regular companion at the same time (unlike Dogmeat without mods).

But 700 credits for it is a whole lot of nope, so I think I'll check out the Nexus sentient power armor mods (which I didn't know existed, so thanks to the CC for at least cuing me into them :) ).

I can state that Kentington's Power Armor Autopilot still causes CTD and missing power armor frames even with the patch. This would have been obvious to VinylicPumaGaming or Oxhorn if they spent more time with the mod - but their focus was on the CC content, which doesn't appear to cause a CTD.

I have not tried the PATRIOT mod, but I can't have that in addition to my follower, so I'm going to pass on it.

My concern about the two Nexus mods is that neither has been updated in 2 years, and we all know that FO4 has had a lot of patches and updates since then. Probably why the Kentington thing still has CTDs.

OTOH, I still can't justify 700 credits in my mind for the CC thing either. Maybe if it goes on sale I'll consider it.

I can't justify 700 credits either. Maybe it will be like Captain Cosmos and get a 350 credit sale.

I opened up Kentington's mod in Fo4edit. A lot of errors. I can "fix" them, but I have no way to verify the scripts are correct. Fun fact - Kentington's power armor AI is a lobotimised Piper.
