Question Script Override Not Working, Compatibility Issues?

I've been working on this for the past 3 days so forgive me if I come across as rude.
I isolated the mods which now cause Workshop Framework to break:
  • HUDFramework: Was compatible earlier, but not now it seems.
  • Standalone Workbenches: Was compatible earlier.
  • Crafting Takes Time
  • Crafting Rearranged: Was compatible earlier.
  • Easy to See Glowing Stuff: Was compatible earlier.
  • Place Everywhere: Was compatible earlier.
  • Construction Illuminated
  • Components Redone: Was compatible earlier.
  • Companion Status UI Remastered
  • Companion Status HUD
I don't know if the other mods were previously compatible with script override, but I know for certain the others were compatible at once point in time. In fact, I don't recall needing Script Override with HUDFramework nor Easy to See Glowing Stuff.

Seems like something else might be going on, possible? Different platform but I am using several of those mods and have no issues at all. I don't have the override installed but it is not needed.

I didn't try loading just workshop with those mods, but I did isolate them and confirm that they were causing disruptions. Load order also has an impact as "Start Me Up" keeps getting pushed behind Script Override from LOOT, but Script Override breaks when that happens. Still, putting override after those mods did not solve the issue. Each time I load with them they break workshop. I don't know what it could be since the only mod that appears to break is WSFW. To be frank, I finally got my loadorder to not have problems anymore so I don't really want to go back and mess with it again, the Jenga Tower is finally stable I don't want to go back into hell again!

The error message I get specifically is "Workshop is out of date" even though it's the latest version. When I replace workshop I get the one telling you to download script override, even though my script override is installed and 2nd to last on the priorities.

Hello, and welcome.

Can you be more specific about the problem you are experiencing? I don't use most of the mods you mentioned in your original post, but I think most, if not all, of us in the community use HUD Framework and Place Everywhere with WSFW and the Override, without issue.

Also, when posting your load order and/or plugins, please post your complete loadorder.txt and/or plugins.txt (usually found at something like C:\Users\"your name"\AppData\Local\Fallout4), and please post them as attachments or under the Spoiler tag.

I have found that CHEF often breaks the main quest even with nothing else installed. It's a cool idea, but I wouldn't recommend using it. Also Start Me Up also have been known to cause issues with SS2 as it changes the Main Quest, and that can break SS2. Some folks report using Start Me Up Redux with no issues, but still I find any mod that edits the main quest to be problematic.

Roger that. They're both out as of now.

I'm using Mod Organizer 2 which doesn't modify the base game one. I managed to find the MO2 load order. I've changed my load order quite a bit since then, including gutting some of the heavier script mods such as PANPC.
Right now starting a new game usually starts up fine, but every 2 to 5 start ups it'll just randomly tell me that Workshop Framework is out of date.

Still doing it, still have no idea why. Does anyone know anymore mods incompatible?
Note that HUD Framework is currently a hard requirement (although kinggath plans to change it back to a soft requirement; I think it is always a good idea to use), and I recommend putting the WSFW Script Override at the very end, even after ELFX. Otherwise, assuming that your files are all up to date, I'm not sure what would be causing that error to pop up (though I haven't personally used all of the mods you have listed, so it is possible that I am missing something). It is also possible that you have a bad install on something, so you might try verifying your game files (if you are on Steam), and try uninstalling and then reinstalling WSFW and the Override, and well as any mods you notice you might be having issues with.

If none of that is successful, please let us know, and hopefully someone else in the community can offer more ideas.

Have you done the basics, like cleaned your mod folder of any inactive mods and dealt with loose files? The loose file topic always comes up as a bad to have and you can't leave unused ones in the mod folder. Otherwise your issues random nature makes it very hard to figure out.

That's what's making this issue even more confusing: Mod Organizer 2 puts loose files into folders and correctly deletes them. So I'm pulling my hair out because there aren't any loose files! I just did a reinstall and it's still happening. The only thing I can think of at this point is that MO2 put loose files into the wrong folders or that MO2 somehow has a compatibility issue with Workshop Framework directly. Welp, time to delete EVERYTHING and redownload all my mods... Did not want do the nuclear option... But hey, if it's a comparability issue we'll all know once I set the time aside to download everything again (might wait until the weekend, NOT looking forward to this).

I did that before posting this thread.

I should probably mention mods that wouldn't appear on the load order. If these somehow conflict please let me know before the weekend.
