Saving in workshop mode

The autosave feature, and the save hotkey feature don't seem to be working while I am in workshop mode. I have tested both without any luck. I have tried using my hotkey to save, and put the autosave feature at 1 minute testing both and neither seems to be working. I am on survival mode, and using Survival Options mod enabled to save the game whenever I wish. Would there be a conflict? I am using two different hotkeys to create a save. One for workshop mode and a different while in the normal game. I have done mild troubleshooting. Created a save, restarted the game, and then tried it. Still, no luck. Thanks in advanced for taking the time to read this.

Does the game correctly drop you out of workshop mode for a second or two when you hit the hotkey? If yes, then head into the advanced options of Workshop Plus and increase the return to workshop mode delay. This gives your hard drive more time to write the save.

If it's not popping you out of workshop mode at all, then there's something else going wrong.

It does not pop me out of workshop mode to make a save when using the hotkey. I have the delay set to 8 seconds. I will increase that, and also change the save hotkey. Maybe moving it to another key would work?

8 seconds is probably way longer than you need, but probably a good number to start with until you get this working.

Yeah, I'd say try a different hotkey until you get one that pops you out correctly. If it's working, it will exit workshop mode, post a message in the upper left saying "Requesting a save." or something like that, and then will put you back into workshop mode.

Hey! Using a different hotkey worked! However. It lead to the slow motion/flight of workshop mode carrying over into normal gameplay. It was persistent even after reloading a save. I saw in another thread that it has to do with the scripts going in reverse order? I don't think it was toggling too quickly. I'll keep in mind the workbench work-around next time and report back with any more issues. Thanks for all your hard work and passion for modding.

**edit**
Just tried to use the workbench, went into workshop mode, exited workshop mode, and its still stuck in slow-motion and flight. I reverted to a previous save, and that worked to go back to "normal". The video doesn't feature that.

**2nd edit**
Repeated the issue. Went into workshop mode. Flew around, moved stuff, selected stuff, no issues. Requested a save using the hotkey, popped me out of workshop. It still had the game in slow motion and flight. It did not go back into workshop mode on its own after 8 seconds. I opened the workshop through the workbench, went into workshop just fine. Exited workshop, still in slow-mo and flight.

Are you in slow motion before the save triggers? meaning slow mo on purpose.

Try entering WS mode & toggling it off then exit and see if it fixes it outside WS mode.

So update on this.

I have toggled to using hotkeys only for flight and slow-mo and everything seems to be working well. The feature to pop me out of the workshop when requesting a save and then popping me back in is working as well. The feature to automatically pop me out of workshop mode after X amount of time to save isn't working still but I have grown accustomed to making sure I save by using the hotkey. The feature to put me back into workshop mode is working fine.

Thanks again for all the help on this.

I've got these issues on my bug list, to keep an eye out for solutions.

Glad to hear you have them worked out for yourself in the meantime!
