No Response Save file sizes

I want to find out something about the effect of settlements and complexity on the size of save files. When I run a game without the complex city plans loaded, I'll have a file size of around 23 MB. However, with the complex city plans loaded the file size jumps to 33 MB.

Is it normal for the file size to jump this greatly without even leaving the Sanctuary pre-war scene?

I am running the three-in-one with conqueror.

Your save file works like that. The delta between where you start and how much is added.

As your settlement and population go up so does the save file. Often at around level 70 and 400 mods I go up to near 50mb sometimes late game over that.

That I understand. But a 10 MB jump from no ROTC_Complex esl to with it is my bigger question? This is on a brand new save with nothing even built.

Then please go to here and get this Tool and read the part about how to use it.

Post results like this, opening any that you may have:

Unattached Instances

Active Scripts

Function Messages + Suspended Stacks

Please Note: this is a very bad save I used for examples, your might not have any or all of the issues shown above .

Alrighty, here are the results from the two aforementioned saves. The active script count is much higher with ROTC_C city plans loaded.

The first lot of images are from the save loaded with the complex plans and the second lot is without the complex plans. (I used thumbnails otherwise the message would've been long)

The first 3, shows up Conqueror as a large amount of active scripts. I had a thread about the length of script loading with the Conqueuror DLC before and, I am sure is was reported up to 6 minutes, before final settings where confirmed.

My idea would to go with the first save, the 56 scripts, go back to Vault 111, make yourself a drink, wait 10 minutes, save, exit and re-run Fallrim.

This maybe to do with the longer time Complex and Conqueror may need to load, also may be tied in with PC specs. but the above is worth a try. Like to see the results of that.

I had some time to run through everything. New game, create character, exit Vault 111, walk around 10 mins, return to Vault 111, wait 20 min. Save and exit and these are the subsequent results:

No unattached Instances - Good

19 scripts - Good
Nothing pops right out, however I am not a programmer.

Suspended Stacks 3 - Hmmm, Its been a while, but these are scripts are ones that failed to complete and then got suspended (name kind of gives it away), however its not always wise to remove them, as I cant see into them and then are ss simplot, I would advice to ignore them and continue playing for at least 30 minutes and check back.

return to Vault 111, wait 20 min. Save and exit
However these saves do not look like you saved in Vault 111

Where did you save, as this is a Vault 111 save

I actually forgot. I exited Vault 111 and then saved elsewhere. I'll see if I can run around for a few minutes when I have some free time and then check what the results are like.

Found some time to run around. Played around an hour and then made a save inside a interior cell. Here are the results:

I think I will probably have to kill off using the complex settlements since I do run a few other script intensive mods and might end up hitting the limit. Besides, the save file with basically just SS and the complex plans is already sitting on 39.2 Mb after one hour of play.

My larges saves with hand built settlements at 16 settlements with 12-15 was around 140mgbs. I would imagine that full built sim settlements would be larger. At that size save times took 5 minutes.
