Sanctuary of the Lost and Found
The story of Sanctuary Hills started small. The tales told of an unassuming place, a place compelling only for its one curious occupant. They would tell of a domestic robot waiting for his pre-war mistress and master to return home with their young son. The centuries of absence would not disturb his belief in their homecoming, so there he would remain, striving to keep the family home as ready as he was able. The stories never talked of riches or resources, so few felt the need to actually go there. No settlers sought out its shelter. No caravans sought out its trade. No raiders sought out its treasures.

Then, one day, the robot’s owner returned, and the story became a legend. Their old home would be reclaimed and become a base from which to search for a lost child and a spouse’s killer. Not only that, but in their wake came a number of other lost souls.

First was the Soldier whose cause was all but lost. In Sanctuary he found an inspiring leader and the hope that his cause would rise again. He would build a bastion from which to defend their new home, all the while offering protection to and recruiting from the surrounding lands.

Then there was the Elder who found a place to rest her aching bones, and ears which would heed the wisdom of long lost youth. Her place would become the heart of the community, a place of rest and recuperation. All the more so when they began brewing spirits and added a bar.

(Should you wish Mamma Murphy to use her visions, there is room for her chair at the table replete with jet and a not-so-crystal ball)

Next was the Handyman, who in Sanctuary found a workshop and no end of projects to tackle (if he could just resist asking others to do the work for him). His yard would provide the growing town with space to store salvage, and turbines to contribute power and clean water.

Lastly among this first influx were the Parents, the loss of whose child had hit hard. Here they would find a secure space in which to grieve and the distraction of work to ease the passing of time. Their farm would at first have high fences and unsocial signage.

The Returned Owner’s home could also now receive the sort of attention which the Robot could not provide. Along with the other intact buildings, its walls, doors and roof were patched up.
13 Player Home L3.jpg Then, while some might think it odd to deal with litter by raising the floor, it was apparently the only way.
14 Player Home L3 Int.jpg 15 Player Home L3 Bedroom.jpg The lost child’s room became a focus of hope, preserved for his return. Toys were regularly left by well wishers and later, a larger bed placed should he be older than first expected.

Over time, more and more lost souls would make their way to Sanctuary. Each hoping to find what they had lost, each becoming part of the legend as they found their personal destiny.

There was the Knight whose mind was lost yet reborn from the pages of his books. They would provide chivalric protection from their fortified home and even take on a squire to aid them.

Then a Caravanner who could not settle for the want of finding that precious thing which had been lost on the road. Here they will find a place to store all the other things which they found lost by others and even find a trader to see many of the items bartered onto new owners.

A Road Warrior, literally carrying the loss of a family, will quit the roads to find a place to refuel, rebuild and new folks worth defending. Their traps and formidable vehicles, a bane to any raiders.

The Animal Lover will find space to keep more creatures than they could ever imagine having. So many that they will need to find help to deal with the industrial levels of fertilizer.

An Outfitter will find a place where people appreciate efforts to find their right look. Later they will expand with an armourer to cater for increasing demand for more protective ensembles.

A Doctor
will find a new place to practice and experiment. Will their neighbours appreciate the results or find out their secrets. Maybe they could even help shed some light on the teddy bears.

A commemorative fountain is built in the final level using recovered items from the Vault.

I like what you have done, it is clean and simple. unlike what I created.

Thanks, good to have contrasting plans to choose from. Wonder how many last minute ninja entries will drop before the deadline. Will be disappointed if there's only five after all the promising city builders who have been developing over the last year.

Yeah, I mean I only started entering the month after masters last year. So I mean yeah people can build all sorts of crazy.

It's nice. Scrappy, yet clean looking. Looks like some nicely decorated interiors.
