Maybe a bug? Or maybe working as intended and "assignable" means something other than what I assume...
In the Project Blueprint > Special > assignable > Beds section there is a blue hologram called "Sleep Surface (Counts as Bed)" that you can lie down on any surface. I played around with it a little and found that it isn't actually assignable -- i.e. you can't command a settler to use it as a bed, it just counts as one for your resources.
(I was trying to figure out if it was possible to duplicate the Snap Beds "working double beds" items -- with Snap Beds you add mattress halves to a double bed frame and you can assign a settler to each half, which they use as their bed. I thought maybe I could just take a double bed and put two blue sleeping people on it, and assign settlers to the people. Doesn't seem to work that way.)
