Hi,
as the title suggests, i'm stuck in the quest. When I approach the quest marker, it disappears. Talking with Stodge doesn't help.

I chose Red Rocket as my colony, and Stodge as the leader. I imposed the "Red Rocket Truck Stop Basics as the City Plan. The colony has built houses, businesses, services ... 2 new inhabitants have been recruited. In short, the colony is functioning.

I waited 24 hours IG, and made several fast travels.

Any ideas ?

Is the protectron 'Doc Shock' there? That thing is really slow and needs to be in the settlement for the quest to continue.

Did you assign Stodge to a desk or from the desk? Or did you let the quest build the city plan thru it's natural progression?

I've never been given an option to choose a city plan for the quest but it may be because there is only one city plan at the settlements I've chosen

I 'am also stuck at the same point. Also chose Red Rocket as colony and Stodge is the leader. Doc Shock is wandering around.
Build a settlement in the Glowing Sea to pass enough time, but still stuck.

I didn't assign Stodge (other than a leader), but now he's a guard. And since nothing was happening to Red Rocket, I chose a plan (or rather, I chose THE plan).

I had another problem with the Odette quest (you had to kill the mole rats, which were already dead, and nothing was happening), I ended up skipping the step in console mode. I think I do the same with the Red Rocket Quest.

By reading all the questions, I am happy to see that I am not the only one having problems with this nice mod (but still quite buggy).

thank you for the answer.

Odette's quest is actually to kill the super mutants. You already killed them so it gave you mole rats instead. If you wait for the mutants to respawn the quest will work properly

Just finished that quest again, with no problems, and Doc Shock was not in the settlement yet

I am having this same issue as the previous players. Doc Shock is at the settlement and no matter who I talk to nothing works. I have restarted at a previous save and nothing. I have fast traveled to other places .and nothing. Has there ever been a fix to this??????????????????

According to Patch Notes, several fixes were made in 2021 to resolve issues with Who Can? ASAM!

If you started again from a previous save, before starting the quest and have made it to Meet Stodge quest objective, when you arrive at the Settlement are all of the members of Stodge's/Hubert's little group gathered at the Workbench? (Stodge, Hubert, Old Paul, Lashes, Gibs and Doc Shock, their Brahmin). If they are not, you should wait until all of them arrive at the Settlement. Maybe go do another quest or fast travel and do some settlement maintenance (Give them a day or two). They all need to walk to the Settlement.

Everyone was there. I ended up going back to a save prior to meeting Stodge and I ended up not making Stodge the leader and he left the group. I made the female (can't remember the name) the leader. I had no issues. Later on I started a new game and kept Stodge but sent them to Hangman's Alley. No issues.

Just encountered this issue, and then some. I swear, every time I go through the SS2 story, this quest gives me some kinda trouble.
First, it was as the OP said- can't talk to anyone. Poking around, it seems like the Dialog Overhaul mods (you know, some of the most popular Fallout mods since the very week the game was released) break the quest. OK, no problem, I'll turn em off until it's done.

I exit the game, turn them off, get back in the game, and Stodge (who ended up the mayor) is gone. Missing. Waiting, fast traveling, manually assigning jobs using the Vault-Tec Manager terminal, even spawning a new Stodge with placeatme don't work (killing the Stodge clone didn't even upset anyone). The wiki is no help, it doesn't even list his RefID so I can use the moveto command. Hiked back to where we first meet them just in case, not there either. I cannot find him anywhere.

I made a hard save before starting the quest because I always have some random issue, but I'd rather not lose progress on other things I've done if I can avoid it.
Anyone else have any further insight for fixing this quest?

Yeah - this scene is kinda buggy for me too... lots of moving parts in it. You're smart to save before any SS2 dialogue scene, especially when there are so many participants. I find I usually have to try a couple times to get through this scene - whether it's the nearby enemies that break the sequence, or something else, I have no idea. I usually send them to Sunshine Tidings after, and make the sloooooow trip walking there with them to make sure they all make it (I'm looking at you Doc Shock :lol)

For future reference:

Thanks for the reference. Sadly, moveto didn't resolve the issue either, I still can't talk to them, even with the dialog mods disabled.
I even went so far as to lock them all in the same room with the workshop, but it changed nothing.

This is why I've never actually finished the SS2 storyline in any playthrough, it just becomes burdensome to deal with these bugs. Since this sort of bug is such a recurring thing, I wish they'd provide some sort of workaround, to force dialog or some such. Perhaps I'll play around with quest stages and see if I can unstick it. Failing that, I may just skip the quest entirely.

At the settlement you can use the hammer to summon everyone to talk to them.

Id reset the settlement trying a killall command (Beware big AOE). Or sniping stodge/etc down. Leave let them cam down and reset and it might work.

BTW skipping quest stages using console commands is one of the things the mod advises you to never ever do. Just a reminder if it applies :)
