Given the number of people with 1.0.0e issues, there's got to be something wrong with it, even though I can't reproduce it. I used information from several save files you all sent me to try and come up with solutions and here is a public beta of the next patch.

I'll wait until I get some feedback from some of you on this before I post it live on Nexus/Bethesda.net.

Potential hotfix for the following issues:

  • Plot menus not showing up in workshop mode
  • Jake not appearing in response to the beacon

Plus:
  • Fixed the model files for a number of the holiday decoration items.
  • Fixed an issue with Hollis Baker’s clothing that could cause the game to crash when she was hit.
  • Disabled the quest Ain’t Nothin But a Hound Dog, this quest was not ready yet but was incorrectly flagged as start game enabled. It will be added back in with a future patch when content is complete.
  • Plots will now construct even when using mods that hack the build limit by setting them to -1.
    • These mods are not recommended. If you click Manage on the workbench, choose Configure Build Limits and see -0%, it means you have used such a mod on your save. To fix this, choose Restore Default, then you can increase it from that same menu whenever you need.
  • Picking Up The Pieces will now re-register for the player to drop the ASAM Scanner after each quest objective whenever the game is re-loaded while the game is running. This should resolve an issue where the dropped sensor appeared to hang in mid air and not do anything.
    • If you had this issue, wait several minutes after loading this patch to ensure it has a chance to run this fix. If that still does not resolve your issue, it is recommended you roll back and try the quest again, as something deeper has gone wrong that we’re currently unaware of.
  • Added Canary support to SS2 to monitor for script data loss.
  • Added WSFW Version check to SS2 which will warn if your version of Workshop Framework does not match the version SS2 is expecting.
    • This version requires Workshop Framework 2.0.5.
    • This version mismatch would have likely been responsible for a lot of random issues being reported lately.
  • ASAM Sensors are now injected into many vendor leveled lists.

Note this includes an updated build of Workshop Framework. After updating both mods by overwriting what you have with these files, load into your game, wait a few minutes and then attempt to repeat whatever you were struggling with.

Please let me know if this resolves any issues for you!

I was having the same issue with plots not appearing in my menu (tho The Stranger showed up and gave me the ASAM sensor), so I'll test 1.0.0f for ya and see if that resolves anything.

EDIT:

Okay, deactivated Workshop Framework and SS2 and installed this version. Existing save didn't work, so I went to do a fresh game start but also deactivated all other SS add on packs including the extended in the meantime. New game + no other add on packs or extended + this version worked fine. I'm going to try an existing save without any of the peripherals and get back to you. Also will try slowly adding in packs to see if it is one of those or the extended file.

EDIT 2:

Worked with an existing save file but only if I loaded a save file from before I started Laying Foundations. Does anybody know what the QuestID is for this so I can reset it and see if it'll work?

Notes: Still had no peripheral add ons installed, used only 1.0.0f with accompanying workshop framework.

EDIT 3:

Went back to 1.0.0e and current released WSF and tried the old save I got to work with 1.0.0f and updated WSF and this time The Stranger never showed up. Slept, fast traveled away to Glowing Sea, came back, not there. Weird because I got him to at least appear before but just couldn't do the residential plot.

EDIT 4 (final for tonight):
Pretty sure it's not any of the add on packs. Putting them all back in with the updated 1.0.0f and WSF worked fine. So to sum up:

  • New Game + updated files = success! Stranger shows and residential plot appears.
  • Existing Save File + updated files + before starting Laying Foundations = success!
  • Existing Save File + updated files + after starting Laying Foundations = nope
And now a bonus weirdo:
* Existing Save File + updated files + before starting Laying Foundations... THEN reverting back to old files = success!

No idea why. I honestly hit the wrong save file after reverting back to the old files, but figured "ah what the hell, let's see how borked I can make this". Not borked at all. I do not understand why, but using the new files to trigger The Stranger, starting Laying Foundations, and then laying down the first residential plot, then reverting back to the 1.0.0e and WSF allowed me to continue on with the quest and the residential plot was in my build SS Menu now.

Version F fixed the problem I was having with "It Came from Planet X) quest not triggering, however, the quest with Anton is bugged. I go downstairs to investigate. After that, the quest no longer proceeds.

There’s also an issue with agricultural plots where the stranger does not finish it and stands on top of unfinished plot and is not interact able
