Patch 3.5.0 is now live! Updates available for Sim Settlements, and Three-in-One.

- Separates out the Complex City Plans to esl files. (available on Nexus only - I will not be uploading these to Xbox)
- Breaks up the Take Back City option into separate actions of "Remove City Plan" and "Dismiss Leader" so you have more control.

If you were having trouble getting past the main menu after 3.4.6, you will likely want to avoid using ALL of the complex plans if you decide to download them. Instead, pick a handful and make sure you can still load the game as you were running into an invisible limit of the game engine. My patch notes video goes into a lot of detail explaining what's going on.

There is 1 thing i'm a little confused about ( only starting using this mod this week :P )

So when i downloaded the previous version, 3in1 3.4.6a i think?
I had Complex plans turned ON, but when i looked at city details it simply said "RoTC: Sanctuary Hills"

Now with the new update i also took all complex plans, and when i go back in to select a new plan it now says "RoTC [o]: Sanctuary Hills"

Does that mean i was not using the Complex Plans before ?

Or are they only being called [O] after patch 3.5.0?

That was an over sight, they should still have the same names for the optimized plans - I'll add that to my list to fix for 3.5.1. The new separated complex plans have (Complex) at the end.

Bad news, @kinggath. Tried to dl the new patch (Lite) and I got the "operation cannot be completed" error. Tried again, same thing. Exited, did a hard restart. Still telling me I can't dl the Lite version. The Sim Settlments LIte mod isn't in my list, but I think it is there as 350MB of ghost space. :(
I'm f-d. I'll need to delete all my saved data, re-download all my mods (hours of time on that) and re-install everything and start a new game. I don't know why it didn't handle it like every other update. ?? Any idea what happened?

So to get things straight ( for me :P )
[O] means optimized, meaning less clutter and stuff?
Complex means it has all the stuff, probably going over the build limit and will tax your PC unless you have a high end one ?

So i'm unsure which one i was using at patch 3.4.6a

It simply said RotC:Sanctuary Hills,

And now i have 2 different ones one being RotC[O]:Sanctuary and RotC:Sanctuary Complex.

@Otherwhere No idea, but that seems to be a common problem - I don't believe it requires trashing everything and starting over. Though I don't know the solution to what you're describing off hand, I believe it's in the Education Vault section of the forum.

If you're referring to the problem I described in the video, that could not happen with this update. The problem I'm talking about will get you stuck in the main menu of Fallout 4, and can only happen if a mod you update INCREASES the script data. At which point you won't be able to access the mods screen anymore, it would just hang with a Vault Tec icon that says "Initializing". If you get that, then you have to clear your game's data.

@R4MPZY If you have Complex City Plans turned on in the performance options, than you were using the complex versions all along. If it is turned off, then you were using the optimized versions which were a redesign we did to work on Xbox.

Per the names, I can only confirm that if it has "(Complex)" in the name, then it's the full-featured version.

Alright thanks for answering!

I didn't make it far yet, so all my settlements were only lvl 0, i can simply reset the plans and go for the ones with Complex in the name so i won't confuse myself later.

And thank you for this mod, i remember little over a year ago i found your mod when it looked very promising and now it is simply amazing, i never managed to finish fallout 4 because i always got so frustrated at the settlements ( i couldn't just build the standard thing and never go back, thats not me )

PS; whenever i select a building plan, i go into 'spectator' mode and start hovering above the settlement, is it possible to turn this off ?

@kinggath It looks like it is a Bethesda issue. Several XBox users are reporting the same issue. I already deleted everything, but can't download anything. One more strike against Bethesda. :disagree:

Yes, it's called Cinematic Mode in the options. You can control just about everything in Sim Settlements.

What was the way to clean scripts again I remember reading something King posted about a week or so ago about it? It was completely new to me but I think its something I really want to add to my running and oft-updated SS/FO4 quick reference document. (Yes I created one. I know WEIRD)
Anyway, its stuffed full of little tips and tricks I've picked up here and throughout the "interwebs" for me to go back to during playthroughs so I don't have to search for things OVER and over again.

At any rate, there were some steps or a set of commands I think that you could use to eliminate hanging scripts if you experienced them.

For those of us who have complex city plans in progress, will those continue building if we download the update and the appropriate ESLs, or will we need to either restart the plans or wait on the update?

ETA: Sorry, I just saw it says in the patch notes they will be detected.

I don’t know why but my Xbox One X won’t download the Three in One updated and it also won’t show up in my list to enable it.

Thank you for the patch. I was going nuts yesterday trying to figure out my my plans were stalling.

As usual, I was sure *I* was doing something wrong.

For once, I wasn't!

I downloaded the new update and the complex plans pack. I went to Sunshine Tidings which has just got level 3, it was Complex when I arrived but the area around the city planners desk was a mess so I refreshed the city. When it completed it reverted to the Optimised plan.

Checking my mod list there is only a plan for Egret Tours even though I ticked all of them when I installed

In my game, with the newest patch and the Complex textures installed, Abernathy farms claims to have no city plans. I installed one of the alternate plans (Abernathy Air Tragedy) and it shows up. The Optimized and Complex plans do not. The Sanctuary optimized shows up, I don't know if the Complex plans actually shows up in Sanctuary or not. I'm going to check Ten Pines and see what shows up there.

If they aren't showing up in ANY of the settlements, then it generally just means you're missing RotC. If the Rise of the Commonwealth CPs aren't showing up in just some settlements, it means either your SS data or the vanilla game Workshops array is mangled.

If it's the SS data, you can rebuild it from the holotape by going to Tools > Configuration Tools > Rebuild Local Data. If the issue is your Workshops array, there isn't currently a fix for this - it generally happens from uninstalling custom settlements, or using older versions of some Alternate Start mods, but there are definitely other things that could cause it.

I use the "Start Me Up" mod. Is there an issue with that one? I use the newest version.

Do you have a list of mods that you suggest we not use with SS? Maybe an incompatible list?
Found the "Problematic Mods" list. I do use Spring Cleaning. Maybe I'll start over without that. Maybe par down some of my other mods too. See if I can streamline things for a SS play.
