Nordhagen Harbour April 2019

Wait, what is this linking to workshop thing?
I feel like this might be something waiting in shadows to throw another wrench into my contest build.

When you place something in workshop mode using the normal mechanics the object is automatically linked to that locations workshop. Then when you use transfer settlements (TS) to scan the settlement it looks through/ records all the items linked to the workshop.
If however you use another method of bringing an item in such as with console commands and don't manually link it to the workshop, they won't be picked up by TS and so wont show up in the city plan when others build it.

So WSP cloning does not require linking?
And how does one go about linking an item?

Also, I have been using a batch file to get resources for building.
Is that safe from needing linking?
Sorry to ask so many questions, trying to learn all the bugs and quirks.

WS+ cloning does not need to be linked as you are making a copy of something that is already linked.
Resources you add make no difference, an item you create won't simply disappear because the resources used to make it are no longer in the workbench.
To link an item to the workshop, click on it and type cqf kgpbp link followed by the workshop number.

I will say this, if you want to start spawning in items it's going to increase the chances of something going wrong.
Also, without proper id's you are going to have a hard time sapwning in anything.

You can travel a fair distance from a settlement in workshop mode and pick an item up(as long as it's not in the precombine) and bring it back to the settlement, clone it and release it again without placing the original.

Thanks for that info, will write down that command for future reference if I feel the need to console something.
I did not know I could travel that far from the settlement, thanks for that tip.

By the way I tested the Cargo Ship Menu and also got a CTD while scrolling.

Also another thing to add because I know you are particular about npc pathing, bringing in items from the world space can fuck things up. For example, cars from the world space are weird and are much larger than they visually appear so you can easily block pathing without realising.

Ya pathing is a pet peeve, but not as near as annoying as settlers running outside the gates/walls while getting attacked by 30 supermutants with two behemoths in escort.
And I am much more careful about about using certain assets and about using console rotations.

Only a few days left.
Make sure you get your 10 screenshots and include them in your first post.

Thanks guys. Far Harbour was definitely an influence here. May have got a bit carried away with all that lovely room and build limit to play with, after several months of small spaces.
Looking like a good collection of plans again this month.

I do not know how I'm gonna choose this time.

So cool.

So freaking cool.
