Fixed No Citizens' Needs HUD

Hey,

I can't see the citizens' needs HUD. I have the HUD Framework installed and I'm pretty sure it's working because the HoloTime mod uses it and it's working. I'm on PC and using NMM to install mods.

Things I've tried:
  • Reinstalling each of the mods
  • Moving the ESMs around (keeping SimSettlements always below HUDFramework)
  • Turning the citizen's needs in workshop mode setting on and off again
  • Going in and out of workshop mode
  • Fast traveling between settlements
What should I do next?

Thanks!

Could it be hiding off screen? I had to indent mine in the software settings of the holotape as it was half off of the screen to start with.

Otherwise it's maybe a mod conflict and posting your list would allow others who are more knowledgeable about these things than me to see if anything jumps out.

I did fiddle with the indentation settings but nothing appeared. Is there a way to force the HUD to be slap-bang in the centre?

Here's my list (in load order):
  1. HUDFramework (v1.0f)
  2. ArmorKeywords (v3.2)
  3. SimSettlements (v1.1.9)
  4. Unofficial Fallout 4 Patch (v2.0.1a)
  5. Armorsmith Extended (v3.3)
  6. salvagebeacons (v1.0.1)
  7. Scrap Everything - Core (v2.2.1)
  8. Scrap Everything - Far Harbor
  9. Scrap Everything - Nuka World
  10. SettlementMenuManager (v0.1.2)
  11. HoloTime (v1.0c)
I haven't tried disabling the mods selectively. I'm not getting a CTD so I didn't think to try. I'll give that a whirl now...

There are sections of settlement areas that are messed up and not recognized as settlement areas. The hud disappears in those spots.

Is the hud gone throughout the entire settlement area or just certain spots? Also is it a settlement from vanilla game or one from a mod like conquest.

Hi glass :) Thanks for helping :)

As I've wandered around building things I've never noticed the HUD appear. In the videos it looks like the "no HUD" zones are quite small and specific. I definitely haven't been only wandering around in those spots.

It's just the vanilla game settlements, I don't have any other settlements from mods installed.

Holotime is another UI modifier using HUD framework like Sim Settlement does. Have you tried deactivating it then going in a settlement?

If you don't want to have the game save when testing, exit the game with the pipboy open. This stops the game from saving upon exit.

Nevermind, just saw you tried that already.

Have you looked at this video yet?

Hey glass, I've watched the video. I've followed most of the steps. I haven't done any of the manual install things though because I'm not using the other UI/HUD mods that were mentioned.

Unfortunately, I'm out of ideas. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable will pop in. I think there is a way to see that info in the pipboy using the mod holotape in the meantime. Not at home to verify though.

Do you see Software Settings in your holotape? If yes, that will tell me that Sim Settlements at least sees that HUDFramework is installed.

I think you've tried this based on your earlier posts, but have you tried making a save with HUDFramework installed and Sim Settlements installed. Then reinstalling Sim Settlements and loading that save? You'd have to redo all your plots and pick up the holotape for this fix to work - but that would be the most likely solution I can think of considering how small your load order is.

Really dumb basic question: do you have the HUD turned on in its settings? I've disabled the HUD for screenshot purposes and forgotten to reenable it, then wondered where the heck it went.

Also try moving the unofficial patch up above the HUD settings, that has screwed me up a time or two.

Hey! Sorry I stopped replying, I stopped getting the notification emails :(

I have eventually fixed this but I went the nuclear route.

I uninstalled all my mods, I uninstalled NMM, I deleted lots of files from my Fallout4 game directory and then used Steam's "verify local data" feature to load them back again. This hopefully should have removed any buggy files or settings I had, without changing my save too much.

Then I opened the game, went into the cellar in santuary and slept for 7 days. I read somewhere that this creates a clean save where the old mod scripts are removed.

Now I reinstalled NMM and installed the mods I wanted, one by one.

It works! Just in time for the revolution!

Thanks for the help everyone!
