Question Never been able to complete Conqueror storyline.

I've been playing Conqueror since about a month after its release and have never been able to complete the storyline. This encompasses about 6 playthroughs and every time, at some point, the quest(s) fail to advance to the next stage.

In my current playthrough the Miss Nanny quest failed to advance after delivering the parts, the quest to start capturing Yao guai, even after capturing dogs and hounds in amounts in the teens failed to advance, and Jammer keeps telling me he doesn't want to talk right now after approaching him about a dozen times, over time. Much time has passed since all these quests should have advanced as I have completed Nuka World, Explored the entire map, completed 90% of the main questline and most of Far Harbor since the Conqueror quests should have advanced.

I'm wondering if anything in my mod list could be interfering with conqueror and was wondering if anyone with knowledge of these things could help determine which of these might be responsible. Also, my very high-end PC experiences extreme script lag which may be caused by some of these mods.

I use Wrye Bash for its patch only and use Vortex to manage all mod files. The report is provided via Wrye Bash because if mod load reports are available through Vortex I'm unable to locate how to generate one.

I think what maybe the problem is advancing in the story of the fallout vanilla or dlcs this happens to me too i have a lot of posts after this and what i have to do is restrain yourself only go to the places what they sayd dont clean of raiders a building because maybe in the future there are going to be a quest there,when i completed the nuka world raiders story this doesnt allow me to advance more in the story and i was in this from the oldest versions of conqueror so try to dont explore to much dont do the dlcs dont do the vanilla story hope it helps for you :D this worked for me very good.

Yeah same here. I gave up and now just play normal Sim Settlements. I play with to many other mods so I'm guessing thats whats messing a lot with Conqs scripts and quests.

I did a lot of the console commands to advance too. Here's some commands I used that might be useful to you if you want to try.

First of all find the quest id by doing: help "quest name/or part of the name" 0

ShowQuestStages = shows all stages of a quest.
GetStage = What stage you are on.

@Phil_T_Casual say what is better dont use the setstage command becuase can broke conqueror.

Thank you for the advice but can you offer any further advice on how to safely alleviate my problem?
Yea basicly what I did was nuke my mod list and try to remove any large uneeded mods and then start a new game that sadly what i could offer you98

The only really large mods I have loaded are Sim Settlements, Conqueror and the settlement builds. I do have some script heavy mods loaded which is why I offered my mod list in my opening comments. I was hoping for some guidance in this area but so far no one has responded.

try to instal this new version and see what happens they do a lot of improvmenets in the codebase :D

I'm not too familiar with the PC side, but from what I can see, you seem to have a load order issue if the above list is how your load order is.

You also seem to have mods that accomplish the same thing ie everyone's best friend and amazing follower tweaks.

I doubt it matters whether it's X-Box or PC when it comes to mods duplicating the same functions. Thanks for your input nonetheless.
I meant to say that some of your mod list didn't look familiar to me, so there probably isn't an Xbox version of many of those mods OR they are not mods I personally would use.

Sadly this has been my experience also. Ive spent the last week basically watching Fallout 4. Its so painfully slow to get anything to trigger and Jammer Ophelia and Maul keep disappearing. For a while the Miss Nanny robot and 2 warriors followed me around the map like followers do. I couldnt get an attack to actually launch and would wait over an hour sometimes waiting on the cut screen for the next line of speech (I was watching football while I waited and all of a sudden Jammer would finally react and scare the stuff outta me. LOL)

So last night I decided to go back in my saves until I could find one that didnt have any glitches I could see and it was nearly 2 full days of saves (48hrs of gameplay). The worst part of it was when I got back there I could see how little difference there was in the world from where I was. It was literally just 2 less outposts and 1 less vassel and almost all the same stuff was built and the bits of conqueror quest line I did get to do. I feel like I did get quite a bit of the way through the conqueror quest line but in 48hrs of saves I was kinda disgusted with the amount of progress I had been making.

My mod list is modest. I think its around 60 mods and most of them are Sim Settlements stuff. My PC is a pretty decent rig but it struggles big time in these big settlements and heavy script loads.

I really enjoyed the conqueror quest line as far as I got, some of the fights were epic and all the quests I did fit really well into the game and story but I dont know if Im gonna keep trying to push through this or just start something else.

What I think would work best would be to pull back the options. I tweaked my settings so many times during the playthrough that I clearly confused the game. It would throw up pop ups that didnt match the settings I was using. So when I saw my game starting to have problems and changed options to try and fix it, it was already too late and things got stuck.

Also another thing Im pretty sure caused me issues is the fact your main base is the one that does all the recruiting. Then as new troops are coming in I am sending them out on their assorted duties but they are now tied to base. So I think they cause everything to slow down as they just get higher and higher numbers I would guess I had 100 raiders or so tied to my main base and the game is constantly thinking about where they are in the world while Im trying to get new quests to trigger.

I feel like having kept Preston and the gang alive may have also added to my problems as many settlements including my home base had originally been setup through the minuteman quest line. I also think having kept control of vassels caused issues. I did this though because in my previous playthrough which also crashed and burned. I took the castle with the raiders and the Mirelurk Queen and all the associated crap with it wouldnt clear out of the area which made building there stink.

I really do love Sim Settlements and Conqueror as they are a huge part of what has kept this game relevant to me this long but Ive probably done 6 playthroughs now that all seem to get bogged down and bugged out to the point I have to abandon them around level 50. I was seriously starting to consider going out and buying a whole new PC of top of the line stuff to try and run it but then I was watching the "Let's Play" and Kinggaths PC is almost the same as what I already have. I dunno what to do but I spent last night watching videos about Horizon

Sounds like script lag. Download ReSaver if you haven't already, open a save file and check the heading "Active Scripts". The value shouldn't be higher than 20 and if it is, you'll have to select the ones that Conqueror is running and end them, one at a time. I've had over 400 running at one point so I check periodically. Another thing you can do is set your passage of time to "real-time" and wait for what may be a long time, in an interior cell, for the scripts to complete. Setting the time as I suggested greatly lessens the chance that a settlement, outpost or vassal will be attacked while you wait.

Go into your inventory and select the Sim Settlements options holotape and lower your settings, there is a section dedicated to performance issues there. The holotape takes precedence over the MCM menu options.

Also another thing Im pretty sure caused me issues is the fact your main base is the one that does all the recruiting. Then as new troops are coming in I am sending them out on their assorted duties but they are now tied to base.
You can right-click on gang members and reassign them to different outposts and vassals, also, you can change their role. Adding guards to outposts and vassals increase your control and adding warriors increases your gang's happiness as well as providing more attackers for your raids.

Don't waste your money on a new rig just for this game. My rig is in the top 80th percentile for all registered PCs and I still have issues.

Another thing you can do when Conqueror characters arent coming together for plot advancing dialogue is to download "Place Anywhere". Within the options is a means of deleting and moving things that aren't normally available. Select Jammer or Ophelia, for example, and move them within close proximity to each other, exit workshop mode and wait a bit for the dialogue to begin. WARNING: This function will allow you to delete characters and even the workbench which can totally break your game so do a permanent save before you use it.
 
I downloaded Fallrim tools and tried to figure out the ReSaver. Im a recently converted console gamer and I dont know what Im doing with it. I cleaned a save as best I could figure but it wasnt working any better then the one I hadnt so I figured I screwed it up.

I almost exclusively use the holotape to make adjustments. I started the game and set it to low settings and defaults except for not prebuilding Starlight or Sunshine so I could build them as outposts. I have changed only a handful of things since. I had to turn off respect build limit so plots could upgrade and turned auto city upgrades on because the manual option would never appear at the desk. After the cities I wanted to upgrade auto upgraded I turned it back off. That triggers my settlements to now refresh when I enter them which makes raiding them pretty hectic.

I use place everywhere but the problems Im having arent nav mesh. Jammer and Ophelia decided to go on attack with me to Outpost Zimonja and then didnt wanna come back home to Starlight but I thought they did and then they disappeared again. Maul and Miss Nanny went with me to attack Spectacle Island and after that Miss Nanny followed me around with a raider or 2 until I think they died or something. I finally gave up on the mess that my save had become and started looking back for before I had run into any bugs. I had to go 48hrs back and the amount of progress in that time was maybe 4hrs of real gameplay and a little more time in workshop mode building. Ive spent literal hours waiting for quest dialogue to complete. Ive spent hours in the Institute hours and in Homeplate sometimes I fast travel out to Ft Hagen and sit there for a while. This has been going on for a few weeks now and Ive tried doing whats been suggested with my limited pc knowledge but after going back 48hrs of saves to before I had issues I just cant see myself trying again.
