Model showing up invisible in-game?

I’ve extracted a road model from the game, retextured it completely and then reimported it into the game. Materials have been setup and linked. It shows up perfectly fine in NifSkope and CK however when I go to the location where I placed my road it doesn’t show up, with just a hole from where I search and replaced. What could be causing this?

I dont know much about this - so forgive me if Im out of my depth. Have you run the file through blender?
Here has some info "The most common advice I have seen is to find an existing model with similar characteristics to what you want and see what settings they use." Perhaps you can identify some of their road chunks and see whats different?

I changed it around and just did a standard material swap instead. Except now it spawns the road but uses the default vanilla texture despite showing it as using my new material in ck.

Most static objects in the game are baked into large meshes called precombines. Most likely you need to generate precombines for that cell. I don't know more than that. You should be able to find more with a google search.

If you can fake it by placing a new object on top of what you want to change, I'd do that instead. The precombine system is pretty easily broken and subject to the "rule of one."

I’d like to take the time to say that I’m a massive idiot. I did a clean install and as such was meant to do the ini file modifications before I started modding the game again but I had assumed they were done already. In other words just make sure the Loose files thing is done, shows up perfectly in game too now and makes complete sense why it would only show up in CK. I appreciate the pointers from you guys.

No worries - Im glad you figured it out. Sometimes the simple solution is best.
