Old Post Low framerate on high end PC

When I'm in settlements my framerate fluctuates wildly. I get massive stutter and framerates that bounce around and down to 1 fps. I have everything maxed out, quality wise but with a PC in the 90+ percentile, I don't see why I should have to make any concessions to performance.

I use:
Vortex to install all mods.
FO4SE, script extender
LOOT, to find dirty edits
FO4Edit v3.2.1, to clean dirty edits via auto-clean

Welcome to Sim Settlements! Its not your rig that is bogging down, it is the game engine itself. Search around the forums for performance tweaks.

As Fritz says it's the engine but here's 2 thing that improves performance a lot:

1. Add this to your Fallout4Custom.ini:

[Papyrus]
fUpdateBudgetMS=2.4
fExtraTaskletBudgetMS=2.4
iMinMemoryPageSize=256
iMaxMemoryPageSize=1024
iMaxAllocatedMemoryBytes=307200

2. Reduce shadow settings in the launcher down to medium on both quality and distance. This makes a huge difference to everywhere in the game and you will only notice a difference in shadows from aerial views.

Mike, your hardware is fantastic for FO4.

Where are you in the game? Is this a save you want to keep?
What mod organizer and are you using loot?
have you uninstalled any mods and played forward?
construction? Too much?
You need to run loot: Mods like Better Settlers need to be like this:

Just as an example.
Amazing Follower Tweeks should maybe be lower
Neither would cause the fps problem just not work right.

Where are you hitting the bad frame rates?
I see you have the below so that is good:

More for education, I always look at his steps 0-3

Still, I don't see a mod problem that would cause that bad of frame rate issues so start with loot and the Red rocket video above.

Are you running any texture mods we can't see on the above list?

Okay, I have done as you suggested but its a bit late now, so I'll report results at a later date.
Also, since I have only one 1080ti, I reduced the iMaxAllocatedMemoryBytes to 153600
