Lost Desk

This is my first experience with Sim Settlements and I am excited to try it out.
Currently, I am playing on PC with an Oculus Rift, if that matters.
I started my first settlement in Sanctuary Hills. Placed my City Planner's Desk on the concrete slab next to the workshop. Started up the mod, selected a manager and everything started to build. Wow! Cool!
I went away for while and when I came back to check on my settlement, I could not find the desk. I have looked all over SH but I can't seem to find it.
Where is the desk? Does it spawn in some known place or is it random? How can I locate it?

when you start up. a auto scrap happens and everything no needed is gone. I jut built my desk at the bridge where they don't build. so you need to build a new one.

You can rebuild a new one. I have some RoTC cities that don't put down beacons or re-add the desk, but adding them manually doesn't currently seem to cause problems. The Sanctuary one should appear inside the house next to the trail going back to the vault, the one on the right. I turned on the holotapes option to find desks, but the HUD doesn't like to keep track of that many things and so I often can't find it.

The desk should be next door to your old house, just downhill. You can use the holotape to track the position of planner desks.

Even if the HUD gives up on tracking it, the map marker still exists, and between your local and world maps you should be able to get pretty close.
