What to do with Charles Baker 's quest , maybe it 's better not to activate it ? I gave him 5 books, the plots of buildings were unlocked, I got the covers, but the quest hung in the task log. If I understand correctly , Charles 's quest is broken and it 's better not to take it . Any help , please .

You're supposed be able to keep giving him 5 books for caps, so is supposed to stay in the quest list.
It's really up to you.
If you don't want to have it in the quest log, don't take the quest. It doesn't really do any harm being there.
The team won't be looking at re-testing it/fixing it until Chapter 2 is released and in the wild for a few months.

I got over 32 overdue books in my inventory but there's no dialogue option to hand them to him. When interacted he just uses generic lines.
I don't mind the quest being repeatable but I believe it should belong to miscellaneous section, instead of bloating the main quest area.
I have OCD, so you have no idea how much psychological "harm" this does to me =)

He did that to me for a while, now I have less than 5 and when I try to send him to hq he just says “come back when you have all 5.” So I moved his bed into the middle of a field.

im trying to send him to HQ but only get his quest dialog. Any ideas?

I moved him to HQ but it didn't fix my bloated quest log. It's just a nui·sance. lol
