Logistics Station - best options?

Hey, recently discovered this add-on and it seems great. It could really use a tutorial, however...

I'm early in to a new playthrough and currently have only two settlements, red rocket and sanctuary. I have a working logistics station in both settlements and have all options enabled. I've also placed a Logistics Storage Designator inside the workshop in sanctuary and it's this part I'm not fully understanding how it works.

Since I got all options enabled, does it mean that settlements periodically empties their workshops and move the items to the sanctuary workshop? Because at one point the workshop in RR was completely empty without me removing anything. I disabled all attacks when placing the LS designator.

Anyone have any good tips how to get the most out of this add-on and what practical uses the logistics storage has? How will it work with any city plans in Rise of the Commonwealth?

The Logistics storage locker will always reflect the inventory of the settlement you placed the LS designator in. You can put a Logistics storage locker in every settlement. Giving access to the continents of you "home settlement" the settlement you placed the LS designator in. It can also give you direct access to other settlements workshop inventories as well, through a menu option.
One use case is if you are like me and I usually like to give armor and weapons to my settlers that are guards. I can put all excess armor, weapons and ammunition in "home settlement" inventory so I don't have to carry that back and forth between settlements.
It will also allow you to use Homeplate more effectively, since you can build a Logistics storage locker. You then have access to the inventories of all you settlements.
Another use case would be you put a weapon in a workshop of a random settlement, but cannot remember which one it is in. You can use the Logistics storage locker to access the inventory of each settlements workshop without have to go to each settlement one at a time to search for the weapon.
I did not test the option to have the inventories of other settlements move to the "home settlement". But I can imagine that would make the Logistics storage locker even more important.
