Leave Jake at his shop

I've just gotten back into FO4 after several years away, and this is my first time using Sim Settlements 2, having really enjoyed the first version.

The voice acting for Jake is top notch, but having him be a forced companion for multiple missions is extremely irritating. I'd personally be much happier if there was an option to do the quests by yourself and have him stay in his shop like a good little quest-giver.

So that is only really
2 or 3 quests in chapter 1, and perhaps 2 in chapter 2
. it tones WAY down once he has
the comm hub
to take up his time. you still talk to him a lot, and he's key to the storyline, but he's not tailing after you like a puppy most of the game.

@SarahAda is right. And people have mixed feelings about "forced companions" but personally I think it makes him more of a character, actually willing to take part in whatever he's sending you to do, catch some bullets, do some research outside, carry some heavy crap. If you think about it, even minutemen quests can be way more tolerable (and make more sense) if you take Preston as a companion. He says, general we need to do this shit to restore the minutemen, but I'll be there and help you cause I sure as hell don't wanna miss it. People react to him too.

Honestly, most of those times you team up in the field, it feels to me more like YOU are HIS Companion that he brought along to provide more firepower. You only get to talk in those sequences about as much as the vanilla companions do outside their specific events, after all...
