Primary Bug Report Laying Foundations - Quest fails to update after building Residential Plot and Jake is non-interactable

I have only just started SS2 in a new Survival game.

I built the beacon and the Stranger arrived and I went through his dialogue with no problem.

He handed me the sensor and said to build a residential plot using it.

I did. The quest did not progress. The Stranger offered no new dialogue, or even access to the old dialogue, and in time disappeared.

Looking through the forums I haven't seen anyone else having this problem. Anyone have any thoughts at all?
 
I notice that plot detection was fixed for the Industrial quest in the "c" hotfix. The description of this problem sounded exactly like what I am experiencing with the very first Residential Plot quest. I get the magazine, make the beacon, speak to the quest giver, get the ASAM, and place the plot. The plot builds up, etc, but nothing advances. Speaking to the quest giver doesn't work to fix the problem. He won't talk to me.

Another odd thing. This may be a kind of user error, but at the same time a bug. AFTER he wouldn't talk to me, I just started fiddling. I wanted to straighten the layout of the plot, so I grabbed it and rotated it slightly. Now I have two ASAM stands. If I click the first, it tells me I can't do anything with it until the quest advances. If I click the second, it gives me plot details. Again, I fiddled with this after the quest failed to advance. This did not cause the quest to break. It's a separate issue perhaps caused by the non-advancement.

If it's just me, I'd appreciate it if I could get a safe console command to advance. Thanks!

I got the stranger to come to sanctuary and I was given a ASAM sensor to build a plot. Well now I've built a plot, supplied it with power, and wait and I'm still stuck on "Build a 2x2 Residential Plot in Sanctuary". I've tried selecting building plans, assigning settlers, and waiting for houses to build but nothings happening. Any insight would be appreciated!
 
I'm in the same boat. Tried a new game a few times now with the same result.
Are you building the plot yourself? Or are you waiting for the stranger to build it? You only need to place the plot on the ground and wait for the stranger to build it. Sometimes it can take a while if there is script lag.

I have had this when I have other script heavy mods running along with SS2. I have had the stranger walk around Sanctuary, sit down and drink a beer or two.

But what I found is I may have to wait 3 to 5 minutes standing by that 1st placed plot. The lag is more that the Robco sensor doesn't build right away or starts talking, which I think is the trigger for the stranger to interact.

Try giving it time and wait... let scripts catch up.
