Junk Town

Oh, I know you don’t need to have the asam there, I just figured that for purposes of where things appeared it made sense like regular plots, but if you took where it snaps into account then that’s even cooler.

Yeah I’ll keep experimenting.

yeah they didn't want to snap right end bit for some reason, I guess not enough snap points in the end parts:(

is it only that settlement they wont auto build?

Yes, just that settlement.

Since I hadn’t really done anything there I’m going to try starting over and see if anything different happens.

So, I just backtracked to a save before the whole mess started and I didn’t get the same problem again so I don’t know what happened there.

On the side of things, the snapping doesn’t seem to work and it is a bit weird. I snap a plot in and let it build and, for example, the little box and sleeping bag are partially in the wall. If I move the plot with place anywhere (which is a real pain in a boxcar construction with several cars all over because it tries to snap all different places) then it builds and looks like it clearly does have the little gap that ought to account for the wall. Seems the same with all of them. They are still very cool.

:) glad u didn't get the same problem.
yeah the fuse box will clip with the wall ,how far is the sleeping bag in.
I did leave a little gap on most that's why I didn't make plots with to much stuff on the walls.
this is what the home plots should look like at level 3

Ahh well see where the box is in those pictures isn’t where it clips for me. I wonder if something gets messed up by actually putting the doors in the cars, which is what I did.

As to where the sleeping bag is... I thought about trying to explain that in the first place, but couldn’t figure out how. It looks like... 5 inches... like if the sleeping bag is 2 ft across... wait, what are you talking about. ;)

It’s like an eighth of the bag.

It makes sense with your pictures though, because clearly it’s clipping different for me, because the fuse box ends up on the outside of the boxcar

how thick are the doors? I thought they was the same as the wall
when it snaps is it the fuse box side snapping or the flat edge?

this is the level 3 upmarket hobo plot does urs look like this from the outside with door?

And the Hobo Living plot

Ok, I can’t figure out an explanation for why, but I get a different snap possibility. After a lot of trying to move all around I found the right snap where the fuse box is in the right place, but the way easier one to get is the wrong one. It’s all good though, just tricky and I didn’t know at first there was going to be more than option.

ok cool glad you got it working :)
internals can be a bit ..... to place ;)
my guess is because there is no clear edge to the box car and that's prolly why it wants to snap elsewhere :(

Just want to give you another shout out here. I hope you’ll keep coming up with new ideas of using the internal footprint in creative ways because the creativity just breeds more and more possibilities. First, the 1x1 gets so much use from me that I wish there were more options for residential. As your original video suggests, they clearly came from filling in existing buildings, but I always shove a couple into the things I’m building and having that option just makes so much more available.

Now, I’m building the RotC of The Slog for the first time and while its great, I’m walking into the main building which has a couple of residentials in the center area with the table and chairs, and it works, but I’m thinking man, it’s a bit crowded in here. So, I switched those two to hobo residentials and it just looks great.

Thanks :) I will try and add more homes but they are the hardest to get heaps of varity I think. but I'm sure I will come up with something:)
CptCoots has stolen/borrowed (hehe) my idea and has 1x1 plots as well:)
:) didn't think my 1x1s wud be so popular:) I'm known for big stuff lol

Thanks for likeing my work :) keeps us going when we get positive feedback:)

I have his as well and having more 1x1s is great. Whether it’s bigger or smaller, mixing things up is always well.

I do have another 1x1 for my new addon
ive made it to fit into a fishing boat cabin :) but its gonna be a pain in the butt to place lol
its a bit smaller than my other 1x1 ;)
