Ok, I need your help, I am struggling with 3-4 builds that must all be Brotherhood of Steel I am really good at raider bases can drop one of them in no time what I need from you, is what yells out here I am The Brotherhood of Steel. You are looking at settlements that are 15-20 people and when you look at them you just go COOL Brotherhood of Steel.

Going to use this to list all ideas I am given.

PA displays and repair
Flags
Armoury with engineering bay
Barracks
Comms room, computers
Training course or shooting range
Metal Buildings that are not rusted, use of glass
Metal walkways and defences
Advanced Defences, spotlights, laser turrets.
Vertibird landing pad
Orderly bunks
Ordered supplies
Library with study hall and school attached and Archive wing
R&D, institute and tech being looked over and researched
Clean
Heavily fortified

Lots of flag waving, somewhere to land a vertibird, beds in neat lines (barracks), well ordered stores, basically well organised military camps.

Thanks. I will keep this open for the rest of the month then get to building the first of the settlements. So if you have any ideas let me know so I can add them.

Shooting range, PA repair area, Intel room, computer systems.

Thanks have updated my list.

Advanced tech the institute teleport pad from the quest where you break into the institute seems like something that would blend in as a object for military testing or something. Also the bos are super dicks in my view in your face and obnoxious probably why I end up shooting every vertbird that flys over and start a war with them.

also Gatling laser turrets would be something they would do.

Oh yes, they are 100% tech snobs and see anyone with tech as a child with playing fire. What I am looking to build in a few months is a cluster of settlements that are all BOS around the Airport. I will add that an R&D area will have to be someplace.

As an affliction ado of the BoS, I suggest also a spot for Scribes to do their work, both field and regular scribes. Suggesting these for the scribes
  • engineering bay
  • Armory
  • Archive
-Laboratory
  • Library
  • Mess Hall
  • Study Hall
  • School
  • Kindergarden
As you guys probably know, scribes are in charge of any non-combat duties, making them the care takers of all the brotherhood

Thank you I have updated my list. You do raise a good point that children are taken in by the BOS and trained up and that there are non-combat Scribes

Depending on the style of Brotherhood of Steel outpost, you could do several different types of settlements for Brotherhood.

Main Headquarters:
  • Large central building with computer terminals, made of concrete/brick and heavily fortified.
  • Large "Vault" (Vault like a bank vault, or heavily defended high security vault to store high valued things).
  • Verti bird landing area (Enough for several of them at once)
  • Excessive amounts of Antenna's and communications, (maybe even a seperate building for the communications with computers, etc.)
  • And of course, large thick walls and excessive amounts of heavy turrets like rockets, and mini guns
  • And of course what BOS HQ wouldn't be complete without a Engineering/Garage dedicated to Power Armor? 10+ Power Armor units with all the tools required to upkeep, and maintain.
  • And to top it off, a nice large Armory for weapons, ammo, explosives, etc.

(Oh, and if the area is large enough.. Perhaps even a very large metal structure for where the BOS Zepplin would "dock")

Sprinkle in tons of flags, spotlights, and wired fences, and you got yourself an awesome BOS HQ.

Smaller Outposts or Settlements:
(Of course every BOS outpost needs tons of spotlights, turrets, and flags, and some form of defense in the shape of walls, so I'll leave those out of the list since they are a given)

Forward Communications:
- Lots of communications devices, and heavily fortified bunker like look.

Training Barracks:
  • Shooting Ranges
  • Armory
  • Vertibird landing area
  • Lots of sleeping area's with Cots and bunk beds in a row.

Forward Outpost Base:
(Something like where they stage patrols, missions, etc. from)
  • Meeting room where missions are explained and given to the soldiers. (A map on the wall, filing cabinets, and chairs all in a row looking at a board, with a large table in the back)
  • Armory
  • Vertibird landing area.
  • Sleeping area.
  • Power Armor area for maintenance.

Random other ideas:
- Intelligence HeadQuarters.
Makes sense for the BOS to stage a central location for their intelligence. Since lore wise they are just getting to the Wasteland, and want to be gathering intelligence on everything.

Could have one large heavily fortified bunker system.

I am looking to make 4 settlements around the airport. I will begin by using a mod that makes fort strong a settlement after you finish the quest there for the BOS. Norwegian beach, The Airport and the Mech Lair are to follow. I might expand this to have an outpost on Spectacle Island where a rather large military base for the BOS will be located. I will be making these settlements work as a city plans so the natural progression of the base level to level 3 so you can use them with sim settlements 2. At the moment my biggest issues are plots that have the correct assets, so this is in the works but I have to wait for more plots to make their way to sim settlements 2. Please however keep posting your ideas. I really do enjoy reading what you have to say and adding it all to the list of things the settlements must-have.

This is on hold for probably 6-7 months as I work on my mod Karvoc Kollections a pack of city plans for Sim settlement 2
This is because the core part of the BOS settlements pack will be the core functionality of the conquer pack, which is not in sim settlements 2 yet.
Also, I am lacking good BOS faction plots.
So I have two options make BOS asserted plots or wait and work on other things.

This was to be my suggestion. The BOS being the tech snobs/hoarders that they are, there should be a storage location dedicated for said tech acquisitions. Of course, this should be heavily fortified. They wouldn't dare let this tech get out into the wild...

Agreed everyone of the BOS settlements will be forts in their own right. Earthworks, sentry guns, armoured emplacements, overlapping fields of fire, kill zones. Attacking one of the settlements should be a task that you would look at and go yeah noooooo.

It's kind of tricky to pull off given the limitations of the systems, but something I feel shouldn't be neglected is how "clean" their bases would be - they've got that real military flavor, after all, and if they operate ANYTHING like the real world military, there'd be a lot of "make the recruits clean every inch of the base every day and EVERYTHING is organised perfectly" going on. (at least where The Player can't see, because we're clearly too badass to be bound by those kinds of rules)

Clean is the key. Which is why I need some more BOS plot choices. A firing range, a mess hall and armoury that are not scrappy at all just to name a few.

If I had a) more imagination, b) respect for the BOS and c) better building skills, I would make you some!
