I really need to figure this out - Use or not to use UFO4P?

I've been reading old and new messages in the forum for quite some time now, and I'm still not sure if I should download UFO4P or not. Any advice would be really aprecciated!
Edit: Btw I was using Freefall thinking it was a better option, but now I'm not so sure... After reading a bit the mods changelog I realized there's barely any new content restored, if any.

I always use it.

I don't know why you wouldn't.

(I say that fully acknowledging that someone will probably post after me why they don't, and why not. I always like to hear new information.)

We will tell you the specific benefits of introducing UFO4P.

In a random encounter you may come across someone who has eaten canned meat and is suffering from stomach aches.
If you meet that person in the vanilla game, they will stay in the same location forever, and random encounters will no longer occur in that location.
With UFO4P, those specific people will no longer be able to ruin random encounters.
(However, if such an issue occurred before installing UFO4P, it may not be fixed retroactively.)

Question: what is UFO4P. I haven't come across it before as far as I can remember.

Unofficial Fallout 4 Patch :smile
Sorry I didn't recognize it; I use it but sometimes it causes crashes with different playthroughs when trying different mods on NG FO4, it seems to cause crashes.
But on another note, I have changed from Vortex to MO2, and I only suffer a crash approximately every 1 to 2 an hours of game play.

Most folks don't add the P at the end so I think that may have been what was confusing.
Just FYI, I am still using Vortex and NG, but I disabled (Turned off) the F4SE power option in Workshop Framework (it's under tools) and now my game is running 5 to 6 hours before a crash.
I'm not at all sure why that made a difference, the only thing I can figure out is that with NG, the Powergrid dll doesn't get loaded so maybe the game keeps looking for something that's not there.
Anyway, logical or not it seems to have improved my game.

Unless you have a personal beef with the mod author, there is not reason not to have UFO4P installed.

UFO4P is not causing your crashes. Its caused by running FO4 NG.

This is a placebo effect. Power Tools was never updated for NG thus us unable to load. All functionality has been stripped out of WSFW for FO4 NG.

The best current way to install is a hybrid OG/NG mix. If you do not use F4SE, this can be ignored.
  1. Have Steam verify files to make sure you have FO4 v1.10.984 installed. (if you set Steam manifest file to read only, revert it)
  2. Download Collective Modding Tool.
    1. https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/87907
    2. Follow the instructions on the Nexus page to downgrade FO4 and downgrade the ba2 files.
  3. Update (downgrade) F4SE and plugins
    1. Uninstall ALL F4SE plugins.
    2. Download and install F4SE v0.6.23
      1. https://f4se.silverlock.org/beta/f4se_0_06_23.7z
    3. Download and install OG versions of previously installed F4SE plugins.
  4. Download and install WSFW Old Gen Replacers optional file.
    1. https://www.nexusmods.com/Core/Libs/Common/Widgets/DownloadPopUp?id=353979&game_id=1151&nmm=1
  5. Maintenance. After installing more mods, run the Collective Modding Tool to see if any ba2 files need to be downgraded. <- important You must make sure any F4SE plugins you install are for FO4 OG (v1.10.163)
To me, this is the best of both worlds. Almost all F4SE stuff was peak on OG. (FO4 v1.10.163)
From what I understand, the new executable is harder for F4SE to hook into thus many F4SE plugins will not (or are unable to) be updated for the latest version.
