i need help getting a city plans mod to work

im trying to get city plans to work but only the basic plans show up when i hit next, i downloaded red circle and simple sanctuary off nexus via mo2 mod manager and it still wont show up what do i do?, ive been at this for three hours and im on the verge of a mental breakdown im new to modding and its driving me up the wall someone please please help

First thing, make sure these mods are installed and are activated in your plugins list.
Then, at the City Planner's Desk, select Manage, then
Select City Plan - Any City Plans that you have installed will display for you to make a selection.
If you have multiple City Plans available for the settlement, select Next to scroll through them until you find the one you want, and select it.

Did you get a pop up that said city plans for Sanctuary and Red Rocket were now available?
I am not sure exactly when I have received the pop ups, but I only have basic plan until then. There are some plans that are not available until a certain point in the game. The same is true for the Castle. I don't know if that has anything to do with your issue, but something to consider.

no i didnt they were mods i downloaded heres the mod list, and i recall seeing another post saying someone was able to fix it by increasing the build limit but i dont know how

No one here is going to rag on you, and I understand that it can be frustrating. But this is one of those times that it may just take a bit. You will get help though.

To increase the build limit manually, go to the workbench. There should be a button that says "manage". Click this, and it should say "configure build limit size" (or something similar, I'm not currently at my computer to check).

You can also find "respect build limit" and switch it to OFF in the city manager holotape.

If that doesn't work, I would suggest making a new save file, then disabling and re-enabling the city plan mod.

As an aside, I just downloaded both city plans on a new test save to see if I could troubleshoot. While the RR plan appeared at the desk for me, the Simple Sanctuary one did not. Others on the Nexus page have reported this issue with that plan.

Please let me know if you have any issues still with the RR plan. I'm currently in the process of documenting a deep-dive on city plans, and any info re: problems is useful to know.

Update: disabling and re-enabling triggered this appearance for me.
