I can't progress past New plots on the block. Jake won't talk.

I'm in the middle of "New Plots on the Block" I've reached the "Meet Jake at." in my case Starlight Drive in. Jake is stood next to the workbench but if I interact with him it opens the trade items window. I have the minimum amount of mods needed to run ss2. I'd rather not return to an earlier save as I went off and did a load of stuff with other settlements for quite a while.

I had this issue once and part of it was I had to wait for the scripting to subside before he would act. Larger settlements like Starlight and Sanctuary seem to cause the script delay.

Also you could have chosen skip the demonstration and not had to place the four plots.

If the problem persists go to the Wiki in the Troubleshooting section there is the commands listed to skip to the next quest.

this scene requires old paul as well. wait for him or move him to you in the console moveto player
New Plots on the Block does not require Old Paul in Concord.
Old Paul is required at the end of Memory Lane (the next quest) as it leads into Who Can? ASAM!

new plots is after hub of the problem is it not? I honestly don't remember. been restarting my game so much due to the overwhelming bugs in the settlement mechanic.
i do know that if you are going for the Demo after "hub" paul is a part of triggering the start of the "demo" and the whole scene

I've waited several in game days, it's been nearly a couple of real world days where I've gone off and done something else (in game). How do I use the console command to bring Old Paul? I used it once to get Codsworth back. I need Old Pauls asset number don't I?

Tried to restart the New plots on the block quest using console command. Got:
Function skiptoquest parameter 1 failed conversion - New is not a known perameter.

Hi. I entered the console command. And Jake told me to build a municipal building, which I did and it's complete but he's gone dead again. There's a quest marker over his head but he wont talk.

That aint how that command is supposed to work. It should have started you at the beginning of the next quest, not continue with your current quest.

If Jake did finally finish building the municipal then you probably got a backlog of script to process.

If there is no skip the demonstration option in the dialog with Jake then you have a really old version. I know it is there I have used it multiple times and it does work.
It's a pretty recent version. I only installed it a few days ago through the fallout 4 menu. I'm not entirely sure what you mean by skip option. Jake is unresponsive.
