How to test an upgrade of an advanced industrial plot for builder characters

This character is dedicated solely to building, currently testing the upgrades of each city-level-to-be. How do I choose a particular build-path for my Advanced Industrial building when I cannot select the tech paths?

Not for sure, but even with Designers Choice On, I think it only applies to the Level 1 plot.
But then.. me *thinking* is a dangerous thing! LOL

At present, all Advanced Industrial Plots (and other branching plots) will only place the Level 1 plot with designer's choice on. This is why I often make in-game signage to tell players what the upgrade order should be.
