General SS HUD optimization?

~Year ago when playing RotC even with max settlements and building massive #s of plots with ~20 settlers each city, my system was pretty much fine.

Yes, had the usual incorrect settlement stats bug in pipboy but when I actually got to the settlement, what I saw on HUD was correct and very little delay - enter settlement, HUD meters properly fill after few seconds to register you are in that settlement area.

Problem I'm having at the moment with just 4 settlements owned is the meters are all totally off, false flags basically, like saying not enough defense, power, etc. But all I have are barely 4 settlements with almost nothing built in them yet.

Sanctuary all manually being built but population ~12, Abernathy pop 9 - acquired as pre-built via quest, RR empty, Tenpines pop 7 - acquired as pre-built via quest. Pretty small empire when I've run ~20+ full huge settlements in the past and HUD worked just fine.

What's new is I pre-built most settlements with conqueror - just the default recommended ones on left list plus 2 more I added.

So not sure if it is due to all the conqueror pre-built city plan scripts running, but even with just 3-4 settlements, my SS HUD can't seem to keep up. On first start of new game session, things are fine, but barely 20-30 min in, basically the SS HUD becomes useless unless I quit and restart game session.

Sitting in Sanctuary it will say for example my defense is far too low, power not all hooked up, etc - all the meters are completely off and it's not an actual real problem because I can just quit, restart and I get all correct meters again.

Are we not supposed to pre-build bunch of settlements with conqueror startup?

edit - found old google search/forum posts describing an earlier bug back when workshop framework initially came out, citing similar citizens needs HUD display being buggy. But those posts said this was fixed?

My issue seems to be th citizens needs meters displayed on my HUD is just fine, all works correct, for like 20-30 min in new session then goes bonkers.

I would highly recommend configuring the HUD to only show when you are in WS mode. Do so should reduce false reports and the reports getting clogged.

I suspect as you have it now when it seems wrong/stuck, if you enter WS mode wait a moment and then exit, your HUD will update correctly.

Setting it to just show when in WS mode cuts all this out. You will get a correct report each time and only when you want it, ala entering WS mode

This is a bit of an explanation of how SS HUD updates work:

I imagine that the very spamminess of the SS HUD King talks about can contribute to it getting itself backed up.

I've started only having the HUD update/turn on when I'm in workshop mode. Since doing this I've noticed much better aka substantially better game performance/stability on my Xbox and the HUD is never out of sync/wrong. If it does for some reason not show or update immediately, I just remain in workshop mode until it does.

Before I was constantly having to enter and exit workshop mode anyway just to get it to update correctly.
