I spent a four day weekend and four fresh starts to make this work but I have a recurring issue:
- Jake goes off the track.
The first time was eight hours ibto the game and he was incapacitated by a mob by Station Olivia (his third mission; getting the Hub)
The second time was much sooner- we went to Concord to rescue his hardware store, I then went on to clear the museum, fight more raiders and Jake was incapped by the Deathclaw. Darnit, Jake. He then wanted to know if I was ready to go to Concord and just stood there.
The third time; I do the ASAM plot tutorial, again, tell Jake to hold on when he wants to go to Concord and save his hardware store. I clear Concord, go back to Jake, tell him it's all clear and he sats meet him at the HW store. I go back, talk to Jake and he asks if I'm ready to go to Concord yet.... Dude, did you stare into a nuke? Look around!
Another time Jake got stuck in place after the raiders kidnapped my people. I though he was just being a conscientious objector but he dragged his heels in the next quest and even using the Cheat; accomplish current mission he didn't path..
The other attempts are flavors of the above issues- Jake didn't show up (load order got rearranged- fixed, oh, there he is), Jake got hung up between first tutorial and Station Olivia, etc.
Before Chapter 3 came out I was able to run the first two chapters though it did get wonky with the HQ staffing quests. I figured I'd have to run them again with Chap 3 rolling out so didn't worry.
I've disabled most of the Mods I have uploaded, the load order and updates are accurate, the non- SS2 Mods are Tales from the Wastelands one and two, True Storms: Wasteland edition, The Machine and Her and a mod to make water blue.
I'm starting another clean save with all SS2 off and after a few levels I'll turn on Chapter One, then C2 and three and see how it goes. All Mods are downloaded through the "Bethesday Mods" through the load screen.
I've been tying to troubleshoot this and searching online for cause and effect but after four days of trying, I'm grudgingly ready to admit I need help.
