Question "EXCEPTION_STACK_OVERFLOW" at 0x7FF62FC65E84 Fallout4.exe+0355E84

Hello,
I can only see two other entries making reference to the exception error, so here's a third.
After the last Workshop Framework update, FO4 started CTD & I'm getting the exception stack overflow error - as recorded in Buffout 4.
This error appears to be pretty catastrophic in effect, as not only does it affect a current save, it appears to be affecting ALL previous saves. This means I get CTD whenever I try to load a save, including saves prior to installing WSFW.
Everything works fine - install new WSFW 2.3.2 - nothing works & I can't reverse the effect installing WSFW has had on the core games files.

To reiterate, FO4 loads up fine & I can select any number of saves to load. I get a loading screen for a bit - up to 30 seconds - then CTD.
Prior to getting to this point some weeks ago, when I first noticed the problem, I tried uninstalling all the mods I have. I then refreshed the core FO4 files. Reinstalled mods, CTD.
Uninstalled everything again, uninstalled FO4. I then reinstalled FO4 & tested a new game.
All good, so I started strategically loading up mods, but left out SS2 & the core mods that go with it. Managed to get about 8hrs in with no stability issues, so thought I'd load WSFW, before SS2. CTD.

Anyway, here I am now. A previous thread has made reference to the overflow error having something to do with the "MainQuest" script? I don't know if this is correct.
Any feedback that helps with this CTD error would be greatly appreciated.

I am also having lots of crashes lately trying to load saves. Wondering now if that's the same issue you have, cause I don't know at this point what it could be.

Did you figure out a solution?

Best way to confirm you are having the same problem, is to have Buffout 4 & check the crash log when you CTD. Also check your save file sizes. I have found 75-80mb save file sizes start to destabilise my system & if you are pretty deep into FO4, with built up settlements, the file size starts to bloat. I would also check your background scripts aren’t dragging you down.
I solved the issue by uninstalling everything related to SS2 - I mean everything. SS2, build packs, WSFW, etc, etc.
Purge your PC. Delete all the SS2 files you have on vortex or saved wherever on the PC & clean up the FO4 game files. Clear your cache afterwards.
Once that’s done, start a new game & confirm it runs with any other mods you have installed. I ran a new game for about 10 hours.
I then downloaded SS2 & WSFW fresh & clean. Ran it successfully for an hour, so started downloading clean add on packs, until I was back to 20+ SS2 mod files I use.
No more CTD, so far, other than the usual FO4 crashes everyone knows & loathes.
Hope this helps.

I am getting a similar error and i can't for the life of me figure out why...

" Unhandled exception "EXCEPTION_STACK_OVERFLOW" at 0x7FF6D0785E84 Fallout4.exe+0355E84 "

I've uninstalled Fallout 4 multiple times and my mod manager and i always end up back at this error, I can start a new game just fine but whenever i save it, quit the game and try to load any save at all i get "Fallout 4 has Stopped Working" alongside that error.

You mentioned clearing cache ? Is that different from simply deleting everything relating to Fallout 4? is there something being built up somewhere i don't know about?

I had the same problem you are describing. I could get a new game started, run for 5-6 minutes, then CTD. If I saved before CTD & quit, the save wouldn't load.
I did the same as you & uninstalled & reinstalled FO4 twice, assuming that was the problem. The solution for me was to delete everything SS2 related from my PC & eventually re download & reinstall the new SS2 mod files, after a full clean out of the game folders. I would suggest looking at a PC cache cleaner like CCleaner or whatever else you can find, to clear your PC of temp files, history, etc.
The issue - as far as I can tell - was not the FO4 game files. While I can't really prove it now, I suspect something happened to my mod files, after a year or so of SS2 mod file updates & overwrites. Vortex may have become unstable or lost something during updates. Don't know what the root cause was, but I'm up & running again.
Hope that helps.
