Currently Investigating

Hotfix A greatly improved the save times for me and hotfix B made the long saves less frequent. They went from 30-40 seconds to about 5-8 or sometimes instant when saving in settlements with any SS2-related objects. That's perfectly playable. My PC is a 10 years old potato, which is why I don't use any heavily scripted mods, major overhauls, custom bodies or high-poly weapons and armors. I took care to minimize potential conflicts with SS2.

So far I've had two seemingly random long saves that happened outside of claimed settlements. One in the diner booth at the Slog, it was my first visit to the settlement and my only interaction was trading with the lady farmer. The other long save occurred while entering Fort Hagen during the main quest. I opened that save in Fallrim tools and it had several active scripts from WSFW, no suspended stacks though. The active scripts belonged mostly to the resource and NPC manager, so I assume it had to do with daily updates. Both of these were autosaves and they were made during early afternoon hours.

Does this mean the Problem in which every time i come Back to Sanctuary it Shows my energy output still high and green in the HUD on the top as Number but the Energy-meter on the left side is empty and all Plots and items are not powered until i rewire everything.
Just for me xomming Back again and having the same Problem... ?

Just asking... because i hope it is and it gets fixed. Sanvtuary without Power is not able to grow..
I've experienced the same thing since installing 2.00 a few days ago. SS2 Hud shows no power but the vanilla HUD shows the accurate amount.

I haven't updated yet myself since the "initial release" of chapter 2, since my download speeds off Nexus are still so bad that by the time I get update B downloaded, update D will be out, and I was hoping for more fixes to the HQ system first before I commit 6+ hours to my PC doing nothing.
I still think it's your ISP throttling your speed. I use Nexus too

Edit: Just took me 10 minutes to dl and install hotfix C with the 2MB cap from nexus

Hi, during the nightngale quest where you go to the sunken boat and look for the guy. I got confused and exited the ship. Once outside the quest icon was gone and I could not re-enter the door (also the door was flapping very fast and looked glitched)

Yeah... i played SS2 for the first time just a few days starting just a week before the Update and Chapter 2 released and i can say for sure the problem arived with this updates. Before it all worked fine. And the only mods i added since where to armors... XD

Do you have the ideal Papyrus settings set ?
[Papyrus]
fPostLoadUpdateTimeMS=2.4
fExtraTaskletBudgetMS=2.4
bEnableLogging=0
bEnableTrace=0
bLoadDebugInformation=0
iMinMemoryPageSize=256
iMaxMemoryPageSize=1024
iMaxAllocatedMemoryBytes=307200
Couple questions...
1. Where would I put these settings? (one of the ini files in the FO4 directory?)
2. Is there a resource that explains what each of the settings do? (I used to nerd, but I'm very out of practice.)

Thanks!!

If your premium it gets to around 10-12 MB’s still slow in my view since my internet is 400mbs and around 300mbs average download so nexus is super slow.

Fallout4.ini or Fallout4Custom.ini will both work, BUT if you use MO2, you will need to edit the ini MO2 uses. Maybe for Vortex too, I have never used Vortex.
These settings are talked about all over the net, but here is one reference.

I still have the energy bug for how to hq (on xbox) everything fine until I need to use the construction tool to make a living area and I don't have much energy to make it and it never refiled and I'm in the tutorial

After doing the 1st cleanup task in the hq tutorial I need to build Mansfield's office but I don't have a construction option on the facilities tab of my workshop.

I just did the cpd quest to collect holo tapes and books at the library and it ran fine unless it’s a different quest.
After installing the newest hot patch today I had this quest restart itself after I finished it so now the guy is unresponsive asking if I have gotten to the library yet even though I turned in the quest yesterday.

also did the first couple quests when you start chapter 2 no issues in the quest to rescue jake except two areas that FPS took a huge hit
1 the entrance with the scene with the gunner guy the smaller dude
2 the place you get the first key card the small town area where the gunner lady asks you why your there.

the quest to take back the settlement hung up for a min or two because a couple of them spawned in houses and didn’t have tracking markers so finding them wasn’t easy until I noticed one sticking out of a wall and then he went agro.

other then that so far so good on the rest the side quests have been nice and I liked the option to go no hostile in the rescue mission.

My game is faster actually. I experienced a noticeable speed boost on my settlements like replacing asams is faster so on or changing plot stuff. Well, as expected of an early release it's bound to have bugs but yeah i hope the Save thing gets sorted out but if we're talking about priorities then i prefer Devs to work on the story progression first coz the save times i can tolerate "Playing on Survival so barely noticed it, i just pick up my phone whenever i'm saving lol coz yeah staring at paint to dry is not fun" and QoL things should be later but yeah that's my personal take on things. I do get CTD's every now and again but barely noticed it as well since i do get them even before SS2 C2 was released "Running on less than 100 mods now, did some spring cleaning and deleted alot".

I thought it might be useful to post a list of issues we are currently investigating. I'll update this list as we go while we're in hotfix mode. Just because your problem isn't on the list, doesn't mean we're not aware of it - just means it hasn't been flagged as high-priority yet. Our two highest priorities right now are to eliminate anything causing crashing/data corruption, and to ensure people can get through our questlines.

  • Some CPD quests unable to be completed, or not giving appropriate items/objectives to continue them.
  • Disease system previous infections not going away when turning off the system.
  • Hotkey unreliability - particularly with HUD related hotkeys

The following issues should be fixed as of 2.0.0d, if you are still experiencing any of them please let me know.
  • Angel of Mercy quest getting stuck (should be fixed in 2.0.0d)
  • Ally recruitment for the End of the Beginning not working as expected (should be fixed in 2.0.0d)
  • End of the Beginning getting stuck during a scene with Jake in the basement (should be fixed in 2.0.0d)
  • CPD library quest (should be fixed with 2.0.0c)
  • HQ Energy problems (should be fixed with 2.0.0c)
  • Power grid resetting (If you are having this issue, see the following thread)

I'm also aware of the many reports about file save times and crashing while saving - these are of high importance, but so far we have no actionable information. If any of you is able to replicate this issue consistently and wants to try and create me a step-by-step guide to trigger this issue, it will be more realistic for me to find something to address. Currently, it's what I call a black-hole problem. I can poor infinite hours into this and resolve nothing - so currently I'm only paying attention to the threads on the issue until I catch wind of something I can investigate.

Save files are not something we have any direct control over, so whatever is going on is not something we can address head-on. This is going to be an extremely challenging issue to resolve as we first have to address what exactly SS2 is doing that the engine doesn't like writing to disk, and then we have to rewrite that code or data to be stored in a way that doesn't cause this issue.

Any of you who are experienced trouble-shooters that wants to dig deep into this issue, feel free to DM me and we can discuss theories!
I know nothing about programming, but, I have noticed that after I deleted chapter 2 (and all the rest), got a clean download and only loaded chapter 1, the saves were just as slow... So I was thinking that the fault was in the first hotpatch, that is when I first noticed it. However, I realize I really don't know anything when programming, or modding and sometime downloading (I go through Steam) so, if it doesn't make sense, please ignore.

Disease system previous infections not going away when turning off the system.
Its why the Option to turn it off dont Work at all.I have start a New game with Chapter 2 and turn off Disease direct at the start after i left Vault 111 but now after some Hour of game play my settlers get all Sick and im not able to Cure them.The Cure dont Work as i dont get any option to use a Cure on a Settler Turning on and off again the Disease system change nothing.All this start direct after i activate the First beacon and finish the Quest from Old Paul to Build more Plots.After 10 minutes or so it start to show me poups that my settler are Sick

There are mixed views on this ini change all over the internet. Shortly after chapter 1 released, I was involved in the thread that discussed these settings.
I have seen posts by reputable mod authors that say these changes should not be made.

tl;dr - making these ini changes takes 1.2 ms from the game engine to do script work. If this results in fps drops, the update budget will not matter as papyrus has fewer cycles to run. (at 60 fps. papyrus runs for fExtraTaskletBudgetMS seconds, 60 times per second) YMMV...

(For me)
I'm only about 7 hours into a fresh save with my usual load order (141 total mods active, as per LOOT/Vortex). I's using Starlight for the Chapter 1 SS2 quests. As soon as I laid down my first residential plot as per Jake's quests, that's when the long savetimes started occurring and ONLY in Starlight's "cell." If I run past Drumlin Diner, my saves are instant. Logged off last night right after unlocking the Jury-Rigged Martial Plots, so haven't done much testing after that (but I can already tell that I do not like that Preacher, his voice is just too slimy, which speaks wonders for the voice actor!)

Will take notes as to if the savegame-issue persists as the playthrough does

Praise Atom!

The GNN building is completely bugged out in my game, Lupe disappeared and can not be assigned to the supply staff, and I cant even enter GNN anymore, it just freezes my game and that's it.

Edit: My character also now acts like collision is off and just floats everywhere, TCL console command won't even work and I cant jump, I don't think those are related to this mod but if anybody has any idea how I can fix that I'd appreciate the help.
