This is probably old news to everyone... Despite that, and in the off chance that there are some ppl who take certain things for granted or if you are of the mindset that says "If it ain't broke". (Like myself)

Point being, If you find that you've been playing for a while WITHOUT CTDs errors and suddenly you notice that they seem to start popping up again out of nowhere, the nexus has a cool feature that lives under the "MODS" tab, its called "My Download History". It tracks a running tally of ALL of the mods that your greedy little fingers have clicked to DL because they were SO COOL and you may have subsequently forgotten about, either because they "Just work" right @woodfuzzy, or because they were so insignificant, that you NEVER even realized they were there!

It lists them all neatly in the order in which you've DL'd and it has the date you DL'd them and the last date the mod author updated them.

My advice to anyone who suddenly starts experiencing random CTDs with no explanation pointing to a poor mod or a mismanaged install is to check there. You'd likely be surprised (especially if your load list is LONG) that how many of your mods may have been updated already. You'd likely also be surprised how impactful those little insignificant mods can be to your game's stability and how much more smoothly it will run if you simply updated all of your outdated mods. If it doesn't serve you to stay put on a specific old version for some other reason, You would REALLY be doing yourself and your gameplay experience a huge SOLID by paying a visit to that tab and going over your list of DL'd mods and updating them as necessary! You can also take the time while there to hit that ENDORSE button to let all these AWESOME authors know just how much you appreciate their hard work (or not)...

Neither old news nor drivel.

I just realized I could use the Download History this way a month or so back.

Thanks for the compliment!

I’ve found that some of the best info for the best mods comes from the details page. It TELLS you EXACTLY what the dependencies are to have your settlement or results match the authors vision.

One of the most important moments of understanding in FO4 came for me when I realized that EACH players game is gonna be different than the next and as such will interact differently with the game engine. Because our load orders and rigs are so varied.

When it comes to playing FO4 modded you definitely can’t be afraid to fiddle around with multiple methods because what works for 1 may cause a CTD or may not even start up for the next person.

With so many variables in terms of playing a game modded, the least we can do for ourselves is to eliminate the things we can actively control...

Keeping our goodies UPDATED is a must and ABSOLUTELY READ what the author says is best practice when applying their mods. Once the playing field has been leveled at least that much it becomes a little easier to handle the almost guaranteed inconsistencies we will encounter...
