Not a bug CTD after taking over first settlement

Hello- first of all I want to say I really like where this mod is going- this feels like it should always have been in the game and just adds so much! Great job already!

Now for the issue I'm having:
I consistently get CTD approximately 30 secs after taking over the first settlement in the Jammer quest line. If I fast travel away from the area immediately I don't get CTD, but fast travelling back or walking from nearby location also causes it.

I have loaded from saves before accepting the quest and chosen different settlements to attack with the same result. -including settlements varying in size: Sanctuary (2 settlers and no progress in auto city building) and Starlight Drive In (lots of settlers and big buildings)

  • Started from new game
  • I chose the auto city building/growing option at pop up.
  • I picked up the holo tape from museum and set "thread=1" and "no multi-threading"
  • I run the game at high/ultra settings
  • I added papyrus edit to end of fallout4custom.ini:
[Papyrus]
fUpdateBudgetMS=2.4
fExtraTaskletBudgetMS=2.4
iMinMemoryPageSize=256
iMaxMemoryPageSize=1024
iMaxAllocatedMemoryBytes=307200

I have around 250 mods installed, but the game ran just fine prior to installing SS- Conqueror

I7-8700K non OC
GTX1080ti
Game runs from M.2 NVMe
16gb ram

Do you have Papyrus logging enabled, it might be helpful if you could upload it.

Is Red Rocket set to prebuild? What level/other settings have been selected for the prebuilt City Plans? My first thoughts for likely suspects would be Triangle of Death. I did experience some crashes but not all the time, when during testing I purposely set it to have the ToD trio of Sanctuary Hills, Red Rocket & Abernathy all at Level 3 with all Level 3 plots. Ultra settings preset. I'm on a GTX 1080 & i7 7700, though I was on 1080p so as to allow Load Accelerator to load even faster. It happened a couple of times but wasn't problematic.

Starlight Drive In (lots of settlers and big buildings)
Are you using the contest winner Kleptoheart Starlight Drive in by chance? I had it installed & did experience frequent crashes while having it as the prebuilt plan, I think it might be simply too demanding. I uninstalled, just had Starlight just use RotC and I didn't CTD anymore even with having L3 & L3 plots set.

I chose the "high" settings option. I don't use Kleptoheart's Starlight Drive In unless it came with SS/SS-Conq. I have not specifically altered any settlements via holotape- I'm just using the general auto build option at first pop up.

The thing is- I can fast travel or walk to any of these destinations perfectly fine PRIOR to completing the first attack settlement quest. But like clockwork, 30 secs after finishing the quest I get CTD. To me it looks like the quest triggers the CTD.

I use the "Sim Settlements Three-in-One v 4.0.0" download from SS-conq Nexus (which I believe includes RotC?).

I'll try and see if I can do the Papyrus logging later. Good point.

Here's the papyrus log after CTD.
I'm seeing a lot of errors from BLD, Better Locational Damage. Could you try it without BLD, so that it could be ruled out as a possible cause?

I tried without BLD with exactly the same result, unfortunately.

Weekend finally came around and I've been systematically disabling mods. The culprit turned out to be Settlement Keywords Expanded v1.60. Thank you VersusXV for your interest and suggestions.

Wow that's a surprise! I actually experienced some crashing(though not 100% chance on event), and I too am running Settlement Keywords Expanded v1.60. Knowing about this could potentially lead to solving some crashing for a lot of people, as this is a pretty widely used mod.

Edit: I'm feeling a lot more skepticism about this.

It doesn't make any sense that SKE would cause that specific problem, all it does is inject keywords and formlists into the workshop menu. That wouldn't conflict with anything that Conqueror does. My guess is a much more complex mod interaction is somehow being affected or it is coincidence.

I think this is right. Thinking about what SKE does, it does not make any sense to me that it would cause crashing.
