Croup manor

This is Croup Manor, originally just an old house with some cliffs. I originally intended
this to be a small settlement with just some plots around the existing house.....
It didn't go very well and the settlement kinda grew. It currently has 39 settlers,
just below 80 plots and an unknown amount of power poles, power wires;
wooden boards, stairs......

Northern side.
I've been experimenting with some cliff side mounted concepts. Might try to do
more of this things on possible new playthroughs with a whole row of cliff side
mounted buildings. This is just a regular box with an internal plot in it.
The idea is to use all that space that you otherwise won't use with regular
ground placed plots. As you can see there are still some cliff space available
so I might try something similar there.

End of part 1. Part 2 will be posted tomorrow evening.

I so like the jumbled, unplanned, organic look of this.

I keep trying to build settlements like this, but have yet to develop the discipline to avoid the big square structures.

I look forward to seeing more pictures. This kind of settlement is really inspirational.

Personally, I find the organic look much more appealing than big square structures (my personal dislike is concrete pieces or huge concrete structures - honestly).

I prefer this... and the discipline to accomplish this... is honestly don't give yourself all the materials to build the coliseum .... use as you scrap items and live what you harvest... this is the REAL discipline... build as your settlement grows. Don't just drop 5000 wood/concrete/steel buildings at a time...

Much more a challenge... but does allow you to see how in real life, a city would progress... city plans are much like this starting with level 0... framework, showing construction stages... builds mapped out, but not yet completed nor huge neon signs or cathedrals of concrete when you have less than 10 hours in-game.

Showing off skill - yes! the challenge of truly rebuilding the commonwealth - not really.

BTW - wasn't I supposed to find my son?

part 2:

Rebuilt this part (compared to screenshots in p1) by replacing the wooden
walls with greenhouse walls+roof. Also added floor supports.

I have three of these to keep my plots powered (2 would probably be enough) and each provide 100 power.

Technically this is an external plot but it has been "converted" to a "living room".
