Croup Fortress Re-attempt

Posting this in the Archive because it's just now April 1st and I was under the impression that today is the last day to enter. Hopefully that's okay; if not, well, I still have this city built. :P

"Welcome to Croup Fortress. You're welcome to stop and shop in the outer section, but tread lightly. We don't take kindly to folks entering the inner bailey."

It's a little light on detail, but not bad for jumping back into it from scratch on hearing about the extension, I think.

Overhead:

Peeking through the front gate: ScreenShot82.png

Careful coming around that corner...ScreenShot83.png

Heavily defended, with an industrial focus.ScreenShot85.png

The inside is sparse, as one might expect from an installation made for combat rather than comfort.ScreenShot86.png

Even a fortress requires some recreation. Barely visible: two bedrooms and the only farm present.ScreenShot87.png

Front view.ScreenShot89.png

From the back, including the (implied) means of acquiring supplies.ScreenShot90.png

Skyline of sorts.ScreenShot91.png

Rooftop residences and recreational greenhouse.ScreenShot88.png

Unfortunately I wasn't able to find a doorway that would cover that upstairs gap without breaking pathing, so I went with what worked.

Just realized I forgot the recruitment beacon. Fixed now!

Also, important note: The basement is inaccessible by design in this city plan. I've done my best to make the reason clear in the design itself, but I felt I should point this out nonetheless.

Formidable! Looking great, I really like those concrete pieces, much nicer than the dlc added concrete walls. Are they console added or from some part of the PBP labyrinth of goodies that I've missed?

They're under Structures -> Large Structures in PBP. They're the highway support base piece, which I think is second to last in that category. The last is the highway support arch which, sadly, doesn't have a nav cut. Even though it would be absolutely fantastic as a gate arch, NPCs can't path through it - I lost a significant amount of time to trying to figure out why settlers weren't entering my settlement the first couple times I tried using them that way.

Thanks for the pointer, they certainly make really nice fortifications. PBP is a great resource, keep finding new goodies, and sometimes forgetting where I found them before.

Wow.

Imposing!

I gotta be honest, when I first started looking at my Croup options this one wasn't really doing it for me, as I was thinking more of a lived in settlement, but the more I looked at it and considered it's proximity to libertalia and whatnot the more I came to realize that this city plan is actually GREAT and exactly what I want for my playthrough. I'm now rally excited to get to use it! I was hoping you could tell me what add-on packs / other mods you used in this, so that I can enjoy it as you built it! Thanks in advance!

I'm glad this build is working for you! If I'm honest, the story behind it was mostly an excuse to use those highway supports as wall components. To answer your question, though, this one uses a few add-on packs - Industrial City, Wasteland Ventures, Megapack Year One, Megapack Year Two, and an advanced industrial plot from Industrial Revolution - and you shouldn't need any mods outside of the Sim Settlements suite and those add on packs to have everything show up for any of the contest entry city plans. Enjoy!
