Fixed Corpse cleanup doesn't seem to be working.

Bodies from settlement defenders and those left behind by enemies during the outpost attack events seem to be ignoring normal cleanup rules. Normally a corpse disappears after 24 hours outside of a cell, I've tried sleeping 48 hours in the sanctuary basement, and tried lowering the corpse cleanup time to 1 hour using other mods, I even tried doing cell resets (dropped cell reset time to 12 hours and slept for 24), but these particular bodies never despawn. My HQ now has like 50 bodies from constant attacks and it's affecting framerates. Bodies from normal enemies that wander into the base are despawning naturally, it's just the bodies from this mod that are staying.

It’s been awhile but I had a bug like this where the bodies would not de-spawn.

I would use either:

Place Everywhere to scrap them or Grave digger by pra to bury them. As a quick solution to clear them.

Better but….Sorry, I am at work so I am stealing examples from Nexus. Sounds like you already know but best to check...
There are specific ini setting that will extend edit de-spawn times. If you find lines like the ones below in your ini folders it could be helpful to post them so we can see what they are telling the game to do.

Below are only examples:

iHoursToClearCorpses=???
iRemoveExcessDeadCount=??
Above from Piles of Corpses

Below from BiRaitBec – setup guide
setgs iHoursToRespawnCell >> 720
setgs iHoursToRespawnCellCleared >> 2160
setgs iRemoveExcessDeadComplexCount 50
setgs iRemoveExcessDeadCount 50
setgs iRemoveExcessDeadComplexTotalActorCount 65
setgs iRemoveExcessDeadTotalActorCount 50

When I had this problem somehow some of these settings had been introduced or got jumbled, likely from mods that added things to those folders.

Still, this is where I would start looking..

If you find nothing then the quick mod solutions above or mark for delete should at least clear them out.

I don't have anything like that in my ini files. I'm using the Game Configuration Menu mod which allows me to tweak some of those settings on the fly from in game, I usually keep the relevant settings at default, but I adjusted the corpse cleanup and hours to respawn cell settings temporarily just to test things. Like I said enemies like radstags, molerats, and normal game raiders that wander in from nearby encounters all cleanup just fine for me, but the gunners from the very first attack against me are still laying naked in my base after months of game time have passed. I can't think of anything in my modlist that would be altering NPCs spawned by this mod, but maybe there's something changing things in the background I'm not aware of. I actually forgot Place Everywhere had that function, it keeps resetting the option to off every time it updates and I hadn't turned in on in a while, so if it's just me and my modlist having the issue I can live with using that function to deal with them.

I had the funniest thing happen with settlers of Zimonja with the RoTC city plan. When I attacked, they were all hiding in the cave by the workshop, so a grenade or two solved the entire raid. However, their bodies never vanished. They littered the place up!

How does one scrap a body with Place Everywhere? Is it built right in and makes them scrap by default like regular settlement scrap?

You don't get any scrap, fertilizer, bone or hahaha meat, no recipe but it works great. the default is "ins" key just make sure to deselect it. very bad things have happened to me by accident because I forgot, so "save often".. :shok

I prefer pra's mod: Grave Digger but hey, that's just me..:declare

@Astasia @Ain't Much Either of you (or anyone else!) have a save where this has happened? I have a potential fix I'd like to try out.

If so, upload your .fos file to a google drive or dropbox.com account, share it, and PM me a link.

Thanks!

Still have bodies everywhere. I mean, we are raiders so bodies hang from every ceiling or on spikes, and it would be awesome to "scrap" them into a body for use in workshop items, but did this ever get a solution? Perhaps in Friday's patch?

I believe I have a solution, but I can't replicate to confirm it works. Still waiting on someone to upload a save and send it to me.
