Question Conqueror Progress Bar Disappears and Missing War Planners Desk

Hello again,

I'm having some issues with the conqueror progress bar. If that is not what it is called, then I'll describe it as best I can. It's the notification at the top left of the screen that tells you what percent the game is at when it is building the settlements, placing objects, etc... It progresses through stages 1-3 of the setup for conqueror without issue. When I enter the Museum of Freedom after talking to Jabber, the menu disappears while in stage 4 of the process and doesn't return. I'm also missing the War Planners Desk in the settlement building menu. I feel confident that this may be a mod conflict, but I have no idea how to know what exactly. These are the mods that I have currently. I could really use another assist from the community.

Thank you

If you need more information, please ask, I'll do my best to be specific.

i wouldnt recommend you do anything game-wise until conqueror set up has completed.
i always sit in vault 111 on a chair, and just wait - let conqueror do its thing, then make a hard save, then i exit the vault and off i go.
i've never played the game with conqueror still building - i can't imagine it would go too well.

Echoing this... just stop at the vault elevator exit... and wait for it to complete... I have actually got out of the vault... trying a mod for a fast start and it was still building... it worked... but could have been a quirk...

Long term game? Could be a problem...

I am amazed you made it all the way to the museum without issues... :)

Also, when you do get to the Museum you need to pick up the City Manager Holotape and the boxes with ASAM-sensors. Reading the holotape gives you access to the Sim Settlement items where you will find the War Planner Desk under Furniture (or under Special?). But if you are following Jammer's Raider quest line I think it takes a while before you unlock the War Planner Desk. Since you also have the Minutemen faction pack installed, the War Planner Desk may show up right away after you have read the holotape though.

I know you have gone through the quick start videos for Conqueror, but if you are new to Sim Settlements in general it helps to also take a look at the SS quick start video (if you haven't already).

I'd also recommend you to get the mod Settlement Menu Manager. It gives SS it's own menu which makes stuff much easier to find down the line.

I'm going to start a new game. I will allow conqueror to complete its process. I will keep an eye periodically on it to insure it does not stop during its stage four setup.

I will report back in a few hours with my update.

Talk to yal soon.

Update

I've been able to install the entirety of Conqueror, however, when I look at the build menu in the settlement, SMM isn't displaying sim settlements in the build menu like it should. There is nothing in regards to sim settlements. Am I supposed to complete the jabber quest line or can I just grab city manager holotape?

Yes, run that bad-boy! :declare
It is always a good idea to test things.
  • Make a hard save
  • Run the halotape and make sure everything works
  • Rollback to the hard save and play with Jammer. Confident when the time comes the menu will populate correctly.
If this does not work then something isn't installed right and then post your load order.

I have my hardsave. I checked the city management holotape and I can build the sim settlement stuff now.

I rolled back like you said. Now I'm gonna play with Jabber because I don't know the aspects of Conqueror yet. I'm gonna use the raider questline to learn it. If I play the raider questline, can I still later on change over to the Minutemen faction? I'm not gonna kill Preston Garvey.

Oh, I have never done that.

I suggest just sticking with Jammer, learn the ropes. Then change up on your next run.

The team has put a lot of content into the Jammer quest line that you won't get with a faction pack.

That is my humble suggestion :rollseye

That's what i will do then. I still have my hardsave, so if and when I choose to give it another go as the minutemen, then I can do so.

To be perfectly honest, my bleeding heart makes being the bad guy difficult lol.

I really appreciate the assistance from everyone. I'm glad sim settlement has such a strong community.

As I progress, I will give an update. If all goes well, I will explain the process to fix my issues so others can learn from it and then I will mark the thread as solved.

So I've gotten to my first raider settlement. I'm having an issue though. I can build any new plots. When I go to the sim settlements build menu, the only thing I see is furniture where the war planners desk is. Is this the way its supposed to be or is there something wrong?

Before I forget to mention, I deleted the settlement desk because I thought I didn't need it. That may have been a huge mistake, but I don't know.

Thanks.
