So, when I did this mod page of doing Conqueror Pre-builts, I did so with the intent of helping others "get into the game"... I was waiting for the March Winners Pack to be released, but with Coup Manor issues, the release was late. So my Pre-builts cover up to the February Winners...

So I have 2 questions, as there are almost 500 unique downloads now (and a ringing 14 endorsements *cough*)... (though @kinggath endorsement is worth 100!!!)

1) Are they helpful? Is there any issues with them? If you all here are downloading, I would appreciate the feedback...
2) Should I do more when the May winners city contest pack comes out? If it isn't a benefit to you all, or quiet about issues, what should be changed, etc... I won't do anymore...? Will they be used? What suggestions or changes? What options have I not provided that you may want?

Also, if you are a finalist in the contest, I have tried to capture all of you in the finalist showcase - however, I was waiting for the next release to capture you all...

If you don't see your city plan, please let me know so I can get yours in the next release (if there is/should be one?)

Thanks,
John

PS - I do have Metro Exodus waiting for me - so if you don't want more pre-builts, won't hurt my feelings!!!! :) haha... (and since @uituit sleeps at the wheel of getting these released... !!! HAHA ... teasing, buddy!

maybe wait till 2 contest are done that way you can redo 4 settlements not just 2 ,but it depends on the time and effort you want to put into this ;)

The next potential update would be inclusion of April and May contests - if the May gets released promptly! haha... otherwise, I am going to do a build and won't do it over till after the June Contest winners are released.. which would be in July!

Some suggestions...... more work for you but I'll throw them out there.
Do the vault 111 part have the saves start from the top of the vault lift.
Consider using a start up mod with some of them, I know a couple of them set you up as a raider starting in different locations. https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/18946 this for example.

I actually discovered that if I activate Conqueror while I am in the vault at the door controls, it will still do pre-builts - which will definitely save even more time, so that will be in future releases... (accidentally discovered btw - not some savy skill! :) )

As far as the random locations, I tried to stay away from the random things - my example is the part of the pack where the settlements pre-built were random - "Who Knows what is out there?" ... and before migrating to my centralized page, these pre-builts were way down on the downloads...

I personally like the total randomness and where I start... and many do as well, but I think in the end, most still want to have control of what they want setup. (It's like of like doing a city plan using vanilla build items, or a transfer blueprints mod, and a mod author has a list a mile long required for it to work - people lose interest.)

I am perfectly fine in doing this, but there has to be interest as well... (people don't realize, and I am not sure how to communicate this, I have over 3000 hours in the game - and haven't even finished it - and that if I do something random or mysteriously new, I would do an experience that I find realistic, not dropping you off in the middle of level 30 deathclaws, or create settlements/prebuilts, etc that would not be something I would be happy to see, providing some skill help / bonus. I play survival all the time - I don't want the path to be easy, but I appreciate completion of something - so there is a reward to be proud of)...

I may do another release after @uituit gets the May contest winners out (HINT HINT BROTHER!), definitely, I will place the player at the top of the vault elevator - outside. I may think of setting up a scenarios branch of randomness (but not unrealistic or hell on earth!)

... well, maybe one hell on earth version - for those who like hardcore and not mambi pambi wrap me in bubble wrap! :)

Further Question @Phil_T_Casual :

I have not played Start Me Up - for starting as a Raider, could you tell me where in the Commonwealth - generally speaking - do you get dropped off at? Are there certain locations it chooses, or do I pick?

Would one want to be dropped off somewhere close to Concord so they can hookup with Jammer quickly, or would this alternate start be okay - requiring one - to travel to Concord - would this be not of interest to people?

John

It chooses the location depending on what character type you pick, now that I read it (and remember using it) the raider location is exterior, to the north of Sanctuary which is not ideal for you I think?

For me, I wouldn't care - would one want to be closer to jammer?

Do you think there are any popular alternative start locations? Do you have suggestions?

And bigger question, if you choose Raider and land in a raider hot zone, like NW of Sanctuary, the raiders you would land next too (north of the ranger cabin - up on the hill by the tower) are they hostile to you, if you are playing a raider?

I ask because that would open up more choices - my choices are based on landing somewhere not in middle of a hot zone.

If I was to pick one for me, I think my top 3 choices would be:
1) Thicket Excavations (Raider Boss location - drain the site)
2) Lonely Chapel
3) Wildwood Cemetery

Otherwise, if as a raider and raiders aren't hostile to you,
1) NW Sanctuary/Ranger Cabin
2) Roadside Pines - definitely right in a hot zone - missile launcher raider on roof
3) Hugo's Hole / Union Cathedral - raider hot zone

Again, I do not know what all Start Me Up allows or changes... I will have to read more on it tonight.

But any help or suggestions, I am quite willing to try it. Definitely a scenario roleplay worth doing...

John

I tried 3 different starts, the raider one puts you with a raider gang who shot and almost killed me, but then they stop being hostile.
The root cellar in Sanctuary.
The lonely Chapel, which is great for anyone wanting to go do nukaworld before starting Conqueror, also I always make my player home/base in the transit centre.

As for hot zones I wouldn't worry about that, you can pick what type of armour, weapons and what level your at before you start.

Now that I think a bit more about this, it would probably just be easier to add gear, rank and pick the locations yourself rather than using another mod for it.

Well, instead of using startme up, I could always do the pre-built, exit the vault, and move (coc) myself to a location - equip them as a raider, raider weapons, etc... and save the Prebuilt Save there... I could do different locations randomly, and equipped appropriately... example, lonely chapel, near nukaworld, could place disciple/raider/pack armor on them, or if northeast, child of atom/far harbor stuff... at least so they wouldn't be just dumped without being armed... wouldn't have the startme up dialogues...

Actually, I kind of like this idea...

What mod do you use to place a home/settlement there?

Yeah it will be so much more appealing to people if they have options. The more I think about using start-me-up the more problems I foresee. On some of the options it alters the player faction relationship with the main factions and I think that has the potential to cause problems with Conqueror.

Great mod.

I think you have wrong mod? That's for performance, I meant for making a settlement there...

For performance I follow https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/23556

How about this?

Scenario - Melee fighter / Brute
Location 1
Location 2
Location 3
Location 4

Scenario - Gun Fighter / Finesse
Location 1
Location 2
Location 3
Location 4

Scenario - Trader / Scavenger / Medical
Location 1
Location 2
Location 3
Location 4

Scenario - Technologist / Gadgetry
Location 1
Location 2
Location 3
Location 4

Undisclosed Locations (I pick - tough!) - enemy neutral so they can breath before moving out.
Armed and Equipped for the appropriate scenario and location (map hidden except where they are) Meaning, further south, better armament/equipment
Conqueror Pre-builts - ROTC with City Contest Winners and Finalists randomly built
Sanctuary Codsworth Quest complete - so no issues with game launching correctly and gets Museum quest so they can get map marker towards Jammer.
Skill points assigned to their class and benefit.
Prebuilts are default setttings, level 1, 100% settlers, etc...

Do the random scenarios, no multi options for what level cities are at...

Sorry, missed the last 2 digits of the url https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/23895

For me personally, I want the cities up to L3. It keeps script usage as low as possible while I'm playing.
Also I wouldn't want Codsworth quest completed.
I think it would be easy to get bogged down here with offering too much choice for players, keep it simple is the way to go about this. But that's just my opinion, I play very differently to the average player.

croup manor slowed us down :(
April should be up soon
kinggath does all the merging of the CPs and we all know how lazy he is :blum

Keep up the good work :) :heart

haha... and now it's almost over for the May contest... I am thinking of doing the June contest... pick a good place!

June settlements are ….. kinggath will beat me to death with his wrench if I told you lol

Big Jim and several doses of Jet - but don't worry, he dies a lot... I like how he keeps count.

Would be nice if you announced it before June 1st - I will probably need all 30 days!! :)

@uituit

Curious - is there a map showing spawn locations for the assault squads on a settlement in Conqueror, or does it use the base game spawns? I ask because of various reasons, but to know where to expect them, but also ensure access is granted - or .... stymied :)
