Concord Settlement?

Assuming you haven't already planned to do so, I think you should have a chapter where the Sole Survivor and Jake decide to make Concord a new massive settlement which, in that chapter, they rebuild, as a hub in the Northern Commonwealth (maybe something comparable to Diamond City).

Something with a massive settlement size and new available building interiors (akin to this mod: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/22547) where you yourself build up farms, homes, some utilities (mostly water), and defense turrets, but you fill it up with all the trappings of a major wasteland city as part of the story of said chapter, at least in terms of merchants, defenses (mostly walls, guards, guard posts, a center hq/barracks, and artillery), supply routes, and or entertainment. Maybe include the Minutemen into the story at this point (maybe they make Concord their northern hq as part of the story) to help build a city born from nothing. If you go with this idea, the chapter should be called "The Northern Star," which what people would call the new city of Concord (similar to how Diamond City is called "The Great Green Jewel")

Let me know what you think!

Just... No. I can promise this isn't going to happen. There's too much vanilla stuff happening in Concord, never mind the large amount of popular mods (obviously including SS2) using the location one way or the other. And that's before even going into adding another settlement right next to the Triangle of Death. Theoretically a decent enough idea, but IMO in practice dead on arrival.

As MsBathory pointed out, unfortunately such an extensive overhaul would break a multitude of mods and perhaps even elements from the vanilla game. One of SS and SS2's goals was always to have max compatibility with all other mods out there, so sadly we could not do something quite along the lines you suggested.

But do keep your eye on future Chapter 2 announcements! Who knows, you may see something that will catch your interest!

Sadly, building up Concord isn't going to work well. Not that it isn't an intriguing idea. Simply because of the game engine issues already due to the proximity of Sanctuary, AF, and RR. Adding another possible settlement to build in that area just wouldn't work well with the game engine.

Maybe you could cut RR as a settlement and put Concord in it's place?
Doing that would cause even more compatibility issues with both other mods and with people who already had built up RR (or just used it as a drop off point like I do).

I could see things like how Jake keeps building up in his little area on the HArdware store, but with extra guards and stuff, all clearly using ASAM setups - but have them be static, not under player control, and not replacing anything in the area, only building on top of it, and only expanding as part of the progression of the main story. Could even be the Concord rooftops that get the stuff on them, for maximum compatibility; I cannot think of any other way for Concord to start ending up as a 'second Diamond City' without disrupting either other mods or jacking up the CTD issues.

I would love it if they made it so that one of my settlements could be compared to Diamond City in dialogue, but since my biggest settlement is always Spectacle Island I would prefer it to be there. It's land size allows for a truly massive settlement in comparison especially if you use either the Spectacle Island Clean & Clear or the newer Commonwealth Clean & Clear. I don't know of any major story markers there to get in the way either & it would be close but not to close to the Castle for obvious Minutemen involvement. I would also like to make it of my own design without a City Plan.

It's actually being compared, a lot. Especially by settlers who have some connection to it. Even though in all honesty, Diamond City sucks. Anyway, yeah, Concord settlement would be great but alas.

well something is happening but a full-on settlement no

Well, obviously yes. Or not? The shape would be more of a "weird 4 angle thing". Those probably have a name but i sucked at geometry.
Edit: wait, no one said anything about a rectangle. Quad might work. Unlike a concord settlement :<

The exact term you are looking for is Quadrilateral. So yeah, it would become a quad. Still a bad idea.
