Features:

  • Continues the story where Chapter 1 left off!
  • Multiple large side-quest lines involving new people and factions arriving as a result of your progress revitalizing the Commonwealth!
  • New Disease system for settlers! (Sorry - we came up with this years ago before the pandemic.... insert Picard meme)
  • World Repopulation system where areas outside of settlements begin to populate as the settlements become more prosperous!
  • Brand new gameplay mode that allows you to establish and build up your own faction headquarters!
  • New building classes, new recruitable settlers, and tons of new things to unlock!

A date and more details will come as we get closer - though we're going to do everything in our power to avoid spoiling the story - which means we can't fully explain all the new gameplay - but will do our best to at least help you prepare if you are looking to have a save in a good place, or if you are an addon pack author and are looking to jump in and contribute to the new systems!

A lot of love went into this chapter, huge shoutout to the team for assembling that awesome trailer - especially Pontus Johansson who collected and edited the footage - this was his final trailer for Fallout 4.

Hope he will enjoy the taste of Plasma Infused 5.56mm...

Seriously though, that's some brilliant machinima/editing going on there. Can't wait to see how this all actually plays, with the implied main faction integration and the new groups - the Doctors and the Police will be very interesting to see!)

I literally just shot him about 20 times today cause of his attitude when you meet them at the Ron’s. I can’t wait for this the commonwealth police is awesome plus the main game tie in stuff ss2 is getting pretty intense. Betting 3 and 4 should just about overhaul the whole game at that point.

Oh and if anybody cares can you do seasons for the city plans like back from ss1 so it’s like year 1 year 2 year 3 of city plans including the top 3 for each. Or just do a monthly update on a ss2 city plan contestant pack that adds the top 3 each month. Would save me a few plug-in slots even though they are esl sorting all that stuff takes time.
 
Query: Will we be able to continue current save games when chapter 2 comes out, or will the new features require a new start?

Also, that cinematic looks hella slick! Props to the one who put that together! Poor Jake tho...

Can definitely continue existing save! Will pick up right where you left off.
 
Oh, the Automatron DLC will be required? Interesting..
And say, I'll start a new game for this, should I get a lot of settlements or can I just focus on making a handful of good ones? And can I alter Sanctuary with a mod like Anom's Sanctuary?
 
That was awesome, really looking forward to this. Just finished my 3rd playthrough, and clocked 3500hrs in FO4, this will push it to another playthrough and 4k hours :)
 
A thought occured to me on a rewatch, deliberately looking for hints and stuff to speculate on. I'll big spoiler tag this thought.

That spot Aiden's hanging out in when he hears Jake's distress call, in the first ~9 seconds of the trailer. Isn't that the same spot that was used for where "One Eyed Willie" lived in Conqueror1?
 
Any sort of approximation on how much available space will be needed for Xbox players?
From the FAQ linked in the first post of this thread:
  • Total file size will be around 500 MB. We won’t have a final figure until we compile all the files from our voice actors, who are still hard at work.
 
I'm going to make a wild guess, but it seems this expansion won't likely be compatible with Thuggysmurf's "Depravity" quest pack....or at least you'd have to do SS2 chapter 2 before dealing with the gunners in Depravity
