Caravan Problems

So I have been slowly getitng my supply chains across the map and had County Crossing and recently The Castle connected and things were happily chugging along building up and now they aren't. I have Jamaica Plain connected - but The Castle is no longer connected - the caravan office is still there - but now it says there are no caravans in range. And the construction materials budget is now in the negatives. County Crossing is the same - was connected - -nearby settlements are working and suddenly - bam - no caravans in range.

I have reloaded - the game a couple times and its still doing this. I've refreshed caravan offices on both ends (I figured that wouldn't help but I tried)

The only vague correlation I can make as to why this happened - or why these two have disconnected- is I bought a light fixture from a furniture store at County Crossing and installed it in The Castle before the caravans crapped out. Like I said - correlation but may not causation.

any suggestions on how to fix this?

Caravans are linked by what is know as then empire system. It has a distance. If you add a settlement that's to far away you can't connect them. Every time you add a settlement it will recalculate the lines and if some are too far they leave the network and go to a closer one.
You should try and keep developing settlements close as you progress. Not one on one side of the map an one on another. Also I suggest IDEK's Logistics Station mod.

I don't like the failures of the caravan system to make connections.

Old Frosty should be able to explain to the settler running the caravan station that if they don't make a connection to the nearest settlement, Strong will be tasked with 'persuading' them.

And don't get me started on settlement plans that don't prioritize building materials.

I know how it's linked. I am saying it was linked - and connected and then stopped worked. That's my confusion. I have other settlements around them linked and working - but for some reason those two dropped of the network. I need to find where my computer has decided to put screenshots so I can show the map as it is.
I found IDEK's mod but it's listed under SS1 - does it work for 2?

IIRC, that distance is too far. The Castle can connect to Nordhagen and Jamaica. Possibly Warwick and Spectacle Island, but I'm not 100%.
I have the castle connected to I think either hangman's alley or bunker hill. One of those two. Can't check right now. I use standard SS2 caravans.

Okay I apparently explained poorly and my machine keeps hiding screen caps when I try to make them. So what happened is I had the Castle hooked up to Jamaica Plain - and that one to something else and so on - and had a working chain. Then it stopped working the Castle just got cut off - and all its construction materials were listed as a negative number and everyone's complaining cause the food isn't coming in.

I had County Crossing hooked up to I think Taffington and so forth and had a happy working chain up to Croup Manor - and all was well - then it crapped out around the same time the Castle did and its just - cut off for no discernible reason as well. I mention the two together cause they cut off at the same time (after I bought a cursed lamp apparently). The Castle randomly kicked back on - and is working - for now - but I can't figure why that changed - County Crossing hasn't changed.

Are you sure someone is assigned to the plot? Starlight drive got cut off once because the caravaneer got unassigned. only noticed because happyness dropped to 16 before I noticed.

Yeah these are the only settlements that will connect using the caravan plots. Ideks logistics stations will have gone used for anything farther.

I had a caravan worker get killed in a attack on a settlement it took a while to figure out why it was messed up. Funny thing was it still showed the connection line but wasn’t functional. So make sure to refresh the plots occasionally to find out if they still have workers.

I'l double check but I could have sworn County Crossing was staffed - I know the Castle is. I DID have Croup Manor drop out and I thought it was a spreading glitch but turns out that one was a busted ASAM (I didn't even realize that could happen)

I’ve had the busted asam as well out of no where , think it was from a settlement attack I ignored.

It could be script lag. You can try standing in the middle of the problem settlements doing nothing for 20-30 min. to give the scripts a chance to complete.

Well it SORT OF fixed itself but I have no idea why this is happening either.
Looks like if those were connected a provisioner died or one the plot became unpowerd and dropped off and the settler reassigned. Great thing about IDEK's is it warns you about this sort of thing. Also is you have a food or water issues it teleport you there and back instantly to fix it no matter where you are in the world. Even interior cells.
