No Response Can't attack old Longfellow's cabin

I can organize attacks on any Far Harbor settlement except old Longfellows cabin site. Is there a future storyline connected to this area which prevents this?

No. Kinggath may have forgotten to add the location to the list (not likely.) It may be in the same boat as the BOS Settlement (airport ruins), that they don't have NPCs available to recruit to the location.

Just spitballing:

One thing that might be worth testing is whether this is due in someway to it being Old Longfellow's home. What happens if you move him to another settlement?

It seems to me, and as always my memory is fuzzed, that with the NukaWorld mechanic Shank wouldn't let you target a settlement where a companion lived. You'd have to move the relocate the companion and then schedule the attack with Shank. Maybe, conqueror is similar? And if I'm imagining this instead of actually remembering it, someone please set me straight.

There is one settler there. It's illogical not to attempt the takeover of a settlement because there will be no resistance, in my mind, that's a perfect time.

You're correct about Shank's quest limitation and having considered this, I moved old Longfellow to another settlement ... still no joy.

How does one normally get control over this settlement? Is it by becoming best buds with Longfellow or something else? It's been forever since I had a game go long enough to settle in Far Harbor.

If you can build in the settlement, you could just drop a war desk and claim it as an outpost, right?

If you can't, is it possible to use the "claim settlement" feature of workshop framework, bypassing whatever the normal steps are, and then put down a war desk?

The war-desk only works within your raider outposts. Longfellow's cabin can be claimed upon defending far harbor from the monster attack that happens when you first arrive. Upon discovering my inability to attack the settlement I tried claiming it with workshop-framework but it didn't change the situation.

Yeah you could. And you get his cabin once you complete the trail to Acadia with him.

You don't even have to meet Longfellow to get his cabin, you just have to finish defending far harbor.
