Good question.

Not sure how to test it. Except to build one and keep just one unassigned recruit and see how much exp she gets in say a week. Then roll back and add another training yard, keep one unassigned recruit, wait a week and see if the recruit has gotten more exp than before.

Unemployed recruits seem to gain exp when they use the plot. (Like I said that is how it seems, but it may very well not work like that at all.) So if multiple plots are available it would seem to follow that more unemployed would be able to use the plots at the same time instead of waiting in line at just one plot. One recruit may not rank any faster, but you may be able to rank multiple recruits faster.

Regardless of how it all works with unassigned troops, multiple training yards will rank multiple recruits (those who are assigned to these plots.)

No actual math used, this is just a guess.

But I assume more training yards would just mean more unassigned recruits using them, thus faster leveling of more troops?

Again, just a base assumption without any testing.
