Started my first Conqueror playthrough and enabled random pre-built settlements. Did the first couple of dumb Preston quests for Tenpines and Abernathy, and I'm able to build in them and assign provisioners, etc. The city planners desks in both factions say that they're both controlled by different factions, but on the map they show up as my settlements.
So, do I still get the benefits of the cities/settlements without technically having control over them? The novelty of seeing the Abernathy family tied up and other random settlers going about their business is starting to wear off, but I haven't gotten to the vassalization stuff yet.
