Fixed Bodies not de-spawning

I've got bodies piling up - initial settlers, gunners, my own raiders who fall. It's been a week (in game) and they're still there. Doesn't bode well for my saves. :(

The plan as of now is it will be addressed in 4.0.1 patch coming Friday.

Any of you have a save with a lot of left-over bodies I can use to investigate? I think I have this solved, but want to confirm.
 
Can I make a suggestion to make them scrappable? That way we can just dispose of them in Workshop mode. ...though, thinking of it, that wouldn't solve the problem in a vassal.

Welcome back and thank you! It is shocking to me that Bethesda hasn't fixed that issue yet. I saw Juicehead just shined a spotlight on it, so maybe if people keep talking about it, they'll bump it up the priority list.

Any ideas on why bodies aren't despawning?
 
I still have bodies post patch and did some wandering around the map to see if they'd vanish; they didn't. I used the auto-butcher on the most egregious of the body pile at my main raider outpost (RR) to turn them into "soylent green" food. I had two dozen bodies at least, plus the during a Defend Your Outpost quest, the attackers spawned inside the Red Rocket near the terminal. They never stood a chance as we had them pinned in the Room of DEATH!
 
@kinggath Tried cutting down to basically just SS mods plus CBBE and performance mods. How long should bodies stay around before despawning?

Still seem to be stuck with tons of bodies. ?? Load order rather than an actual mod conflict?
 
Same here even after the patch, tried waiting it out but they dont go away.

im gonna use the recommended auto butcher here in the mean time
 
I honestly don't know how long they should stick around, or what's causing it. Still would love a save file with a good body pile I can experiment on. Feel free to send me one PC players!
 
Just a thought: Would the difficulty setting affect this? I play on Survival Mode, and I know that is supposed to affect the re-spawn rate. Is it possible Conqueror is conflicting with some of those settings from the vanilla game causing it to not clear bodies?
 
@kinggath I'm starting a new run with just WSF, SS 3in1, and Conqueror plus Cheat Terminal. I need that last one to test this without spending dozens of hours playing thru the game. I can give myself some levels, god mode, and fast travel and get to the Conquering! I'll let you know if I still have bodies lingering. Since I'm on XBone, I can't send you a save file
 
I can add that there are two mods that I have installed that can affect the spawn and de-spawn rate. Pack attack and game configuration menu (GCM values on spawn and cell reset do not seem to work for me), I will do more tests.

Even using just the core Conqueror mods, I still have bodies lingering. I don't know if Starlight is a problem, but that's been my first Outpost each time. I've spent 5 days in game and the mole rats (and their holes), settlers/civilians, and gunners corpses all have remained. :(

Open up your save and go into an interior, I always do the command "coc sanctuarybasementjahani" without quote marks, then type the following commands in order

setgs iHoursToRespawncell 1
setgs iHoursToRespawncellCleared 1
set timescale to 99999
pcb

close the console, wait exactly for one second but make sure to not leave it more than one second tho, after exactly one second goes by, open up the console again and type

setgs iHoursToRespawncell 168
setgs iHoursToRespawncellCleared 480
set timescale to 20

Then close console and wait in the bed for 1 hour , exit the basement and travel to your settlement and see if they're still there
