Two ideas:
Automatic repairs:
To me, one of the big ideas behind Sim Settlements is that your settlers aren't useless without your help, and can do a lot of the work on their own. With that in mind, I'd like it if settlers could help with one of the more annoying settlement tasks: repairs.
Here's what I'm proposing:
3 new options will be added to the holotape/MCM:
Auto repairs: Sets if, and how often, your settlers will repair everything in your settlements. Can be set to Off, every 24 hours, 3 days or 7 days (in game time).
Auto repair price: Sets how much recources auto repair costs compared to normal repairs. Can be set to Normal, Half, Free, or Double. (If you can't afford the auto repairs, they won't happen).
Auto repair in deficit: This option will only work for those with maintenance costs on. If turned on, it will prevent auto repairs in settlements where you cannot afford maintenance costs.
Other details:
I don't know if it's a good idea, but it may be possible to allow power armor to be repaired this way, if it's in a settlement.
Plot damage:
One of the slightly unbalanced sides of Sim Settlements is that while your vanilla turrets, generators, and water pumps can be damaged and break down, your plots cannot.
Here's what I'm proposing:
First of all, this will be OPTIONAL. It can be turned off in the holotape/MCM.
While this option is turned on, certain plot types will be vulnerable to taking damage and breaking down (I was thinking martial, industrial, agricultural, and maybe recreational). When broken, plots will stop functioning and require recources to repair. The cost will be based on the plot type and level. Settlers assigned to broken plots will remain assigned to them, and there may be an option to have settlers assigned to a broken plot automaticly repair it for free after a while. Also, this system may allow plots to be effected by being unable to afford maintenance costs, if they are turned on.
I am suggesting these two ideas together as I feel they would work well together.
Please answer the poll so I'll know what people think of the idea.
