Artillery

Both the Artillery Post and Artillery Station doesn't seem to want to work with the Artillery Smoke Grenades.

I tested with both and receive the "No artillery" message for both.

I am geting this bug too. I get the deffence points, but no shells fire and I get the out of range mesage over the radio.

I am having the same problem, with Brae's arty posts/stations properly powered and crewed: I get the defence bonus but the arty is not functional with smoke grenades (out of range).

I am also having this problem, artillery off the martial plots will not work but if I replace them with vanilla artillery I can call upon it.

I'm having this issue on xbox one, I didnt pay attention the first few days, then when I needed some artillery it said outta range. I was just outside of a settlement with two arty stations. Im on the first gen xbox one and only 250gb harddrive so Im running lean on mods. They have been coming in great as far as look and no missing pieces that I have seen. Just no bombing.

Try using one built artillery piece in the settlement with the martial plots... That may act as an enabler to make them function.

I did just before I posted last night. Started a new save this morning . The creation kit really screwed me up.

I made it back on a new save. Banned the artillery until I completed Old Guns. After I finished the mission I built an artillery station at Sanctuary and the response on the radio was "sorry sir, outta range". I added a vanilla artillery right next to it and repeated. The vanilla fired, the settler at the mod post warmed her hands at the fire barrel. I was just checking back to see if anyone else is getting this or has found a solve.

This seems to be a common problem for a lot of people, including myself, if the bug reports/comments sections on nexus are of any indication.

Probably a patch or something broke it. Who knows?

Either way, I do have a temporary "fix" here:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/f8etn6t562wvxtf/SimSettlements_AddOnPack_Defences_Brae.esp?dl=0

Be warned: I use "fix" very loosely. While it does solve the problem of artillery not functioning, it instead gives you the exact opposite problem: Now artillery guns in plots will function regardless of whether or not someone is occupying them, which means you'll have to employ self-restraint to prevent yourself from cheesing this system. Still, it's marginally better than it not working at all.

Hopefully though this should be enough until Brae comes back and finds a way to fix this properly.

(Btw, I've ruled out any sort of mod conflict. I uninstalled ALL my mods (thanks Mod Org, otherwise this would be hella awkward) except Simsettlements, Industrial, and this mod. I tested flares straight off, no-go. Refreshed plot, no go. Rebuilt plot, no go. So it's not a mod conflict of any kind.)

Thank you Rylassin!

Does anyone know if these artillery plots work with "Artillery Fire and Range Expansion" https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/4597/?tab=1&navtag=https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/ajax/moddescription/?id=4597&preview=&pUp=1

and "Angry Artillery"? https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/9513/?tab=1&navtag=https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/ajax/moddescription/?id=9513&preview=&pUp=1

I can do some testing later, but I'm still fairly early game in this playthrough. Just wondering if anyone's tried either. Look in the CK, I'm thinking they might, as Brae's mod doesn't seem to change the actual artillery itself.

EDIT: Someone else mentioned in the discussion thread that Artillery Fire and Range Expansion does work with the Artillery added by Brae's mod.

Hello,

Here's an interesting variation:
The plots _used_ to work, and now don't. Generic artillery pieces still do. Locations I've shelled in the past are now out of range, or get a reduced barrage due to only generic pieces firing. It took me a while to notice as I have a mix of plots and generic pieces, depending on the settlement.

Rylassin, I downloaded your .esp file and replaced the original with it. Nothing changed. Still getting the out of range message from a test near one of my more lonely settlements.

EDIT: Nevermind, I fast traveled to another location and now it works at all locations. Thank you, Rylassin.
