Any good raider overhauls out there?

So i'm getting bored with those vanilla raiders wearing the same clothes, armor and stupid pipe weapons and double barrel shotguns over and over and over again. There's this raider overhaul in nexus but it's so old I'm afraid it wont work anymore? What mods do you use to spice raiders up a bit that works with SS2? Thanks !!

"Raider Gangs Extended" is the last one I tried out, but that was before SS2; I wouldn't trust it now with where its hand-placed 'custom gangs' are put - there's at least a half dozen manually placed spawns of them in Concord alone.
None of the other ones I've tried were even worth remembering the names of.

I actually made a "mod" myself now that all it does is tweak their armour and weapons leveled-lists a bit. (it actually merges the leveled lists of every other base game and DLC factions into the generic Raider one, so their gear is now 100% random, and as long as it's near the bottom of the load order even includes other mod-added stuff)
I haven't published that anywhere though. It's in my pile of partly-formed projects that may or may not get folded together into something useful once the SS2 Addon Maker's Toolkit gets updated with the Chapter 2 stuff.

Sounds like a cool mod, the one you made. Simply randoming the gear would be good enough! You should publish that.

I'd need to do it properly instead of the really ghetto way I have it implemented now, since doing it as a simple merge means you get Raiders spawning in with Operator Rifles and Disciples Armor even at level 1, which is probably a bit much for most people.
Note: I do know exactly what to do to "fix" it in that way, I just can't be bothered because I hadn't planned on sharing it standalone, only as part of something larger I've got on the boil, at which point I would re-do it.

IIRC, the "proper" way to change level lists is to script inject the new stuff. I can't remember the name, but there is a mod / modder's resource to handle custom LL injection on Nexus. (dang CRS...)

I'll have to look forward to your project's release!

Yeah that's how I did it, using "Leveled List Injection Toolbox" by a_blind_man. Works just fine. It's just that, like... the LL for The Disciples is made on the assumption that you won't even see any of them before you go to Nuka World, for which the quest triggers at Level 30, so Bethesda didn't put a "minimum level" on when they can spawn with their fully automatic AKMs. Thus when that list is merged onto someone that you can see from level 1, they can still spawn with it.
That's what I mean about "redoing it properly", it'd need to be tweaked to alleviate that.

I'm just not sure how much waggleroom there'll be in the World Repopulation system SS2v2 added, but if I know anything about how this mod is coded, it'll be overkill for what I have planned. Let's just say, "Traveling Visitors" was barely a footnote.
