Old Post Any difference between updating a mod or deleting (old)/replacing(new)?

This may seem like a question with an obvious answer to many of you. Please forgive me in advance.

I'm on an Xbox.

Is there any actual or functional difference between just updating a mod or deleting the old version and installing the new version? Or is the difference just one of convenience?

I play on PC, but the same rules apply. I always save before updating. Then delete the old rev. Install new rev...let the installer do it's thing... run LOOT. Start up again with previously saved game. The main point, is that you have a fresh install to work from that has the new content. The differences can be substantial actually.
